Please excuse my ignorance; it is clear that I do not understand the processes of this program.
My goal (so far) was to create a full MIRROR of my c:\ drive. I seem to have accomplished this.

My next goal was to choose several subdirectories which are the locations for frequently changing files: email, financial data, downloads, etc. The configuration is shown in the screen shot attached. For this action, I chose UPDATE and assumed that the program would generate subdirectories (folders) as required by the choices made on the "left." What was generated was not a list of those same 'folders' but instead a lengthy listing of a mixture of files and folders shown in the second attachment (FFS-RESULT).

After thinking about this, I thought if there was a way to filter the contents of the 'folders' to include only file dates newer than a chosen date, I might be able to do daily "UPDATES" either by hand or batched, but in order to do this, the 'folders' on my NAS would have to be the same as on my computer drive.

If anyone understand my problem and can explain where my reasoning has failed me, I would be in his or her debt.

In summary: I have established a recent mirror of my C;\ drive on my NAS. I now wish to do a daily update of 8 subdirectories chosen from my computer C:\ drive to both mirror the folder names and to keep the daily changed files in sync.

I thank in advance anyone who can contribute to my understanding.
Thank you, Jack

You are probably syncing all 8 locations to the same folder on the right side, can't tell with the small screenshot. Copy-paste the whole locations into the forum if you could. You are likely syncing
C:\Users\Owner\" to "\\MYCLOUD\Example\"
and
"C:\QUICKEN\" to "\\MYCLOUD\Example\"
instead of syncing them to
"\\MYCLOUD\Example\Owner\"
and
"\\MYCLOUD\Example\QUICKEN\"
respectively.

Thank you. I suspect you are correct, but wonder where my reasoning went astray: When I did my initial "Mirror" of Computer C:\, the program copied the 'folders' exactly. I assumed that by choosing the 8 different folders, the program would do the same and create the 'folders' for me. I gather that if I wish to deal only with these 8 'folders' I shall be required to create 8 separate 'folders' on the NAS?
I shall next investigate how to exclude old files on these 8 'folders' so that I am not replicating files needlessly in what is already a "mirror" of C:\. I do not yet understand how to exclude files by creation date, but I assume I will eventually "get" it. Would "Mirroring" the 8 chosen 'folders' using the date filter to exclude old files generate a series of folders on my NAS to which I could then apply "update" daily?

Correct. Although if you just did a full backup, wouldn't those 8 folders already exist? And you just need to select them as the destination for their respective source?

Again, thank you. I am quite sure you are correct, but as I slowly work my way through the processes, I do not want to make a mistake that would make repeating the full back-up, so I chose this route. My next task is learning the exclude filter. Regards.

Thank you for your help and suggestions. I have learned how to include recent files only and followed you advice for establishing separate 'folders' on the 'right.' Seems to be working well. regards, Jack
