Hello !
On my computer, Internet is disconnected because I work with sensitive files. FreeFileSync works perfectly without it but every couple of minutes when I launch a sync, an error message pops up saying :
"the number of the FreeFileSync's version is unavailable on the internet. A newer version is probably available. Would you like to check now ?
ETIMEDOUT: Operation timed out [connect]"
It is very annoying since it stops my sync and I have to hit cancel and stay in front of my computer in case it pops up again ...
Could you please help me get rid of these messages ? I already unchecked "control if a new version is available every week" but can't seem to find anything else...
Apologies if this topic has been raised before!
Thank you all
:)
Diane

Online access has been migrated to using libcurl since FFS 11.16, so this is worth a retest with the latest version.

What error message are you seeing?

Do you have
• Help | Check for updates... -> Check automatically once a week
enabled?
This thread alludes to the check becoming (re-)enabled, Disable reenabling auto update check.
If you disable the auto update check, do you still get the update check & associated message dialog?
If you disable the auto update check, does it stay disabled for you?

I have no Internet at home.
I did have 'Check automatically...' enabled, but leaving DC open did not result in any message.
I then manually checked for updates at which point I did then get a message, but it was different from what you posted above.
(I don't recall the exact message, but instead of "timed out", it probably said "not available".)
