Hi,
I am a new FreeFileSync user and need some help regarding RealTimeSync.
I want to run RealTimeSync as a service and as an administrator too. Because I want it to sync all the changed files(anytime a file is changed) after starting the pc.
And if I don't run it as an administrator it shows access error. Example below-
I was trying to sync from C:/ drive (C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL15.SQLEXPRESS\MSSQL\DATA) to another backup drive (G:\TestSync) but it threw this error-
Again when I tried to sync and mirror a whole drive (D:\) to the backup drive (G:\TestSync2) it throws this error -
I thought it might be done if I run RealTimeSync as an administrator and set it as a service. (Not Sure if this will work & don't know how to do it)
Please let me know what can I do to perform the action mentioned above.
Thanks
Want To Run RealTimeSync as an administrator and also as a service

I am by no means one who has all the answers, heck I'm lucky to figure things out for myself. But in your case, if it were me 2 things I'd do. I'd right click on whatever you run from, whether be the Start Icons, or wherever you run the .exe and select Run As Administrator. Also and maybe more importantly I downloaded a FREE program called TakeOwnership. There is a free and a pro. I use the free. I went to the folder for FreeFileSync and told this Win 10 app to take ownership if that folder and all subfolders, in the FreeFileSync folder. In mine it's in C://Program Files/FreeFileSync. I believe that was the answer for me. Best of Luck, I hope this may work for you! jackdashack ":-Dx

You should basically never have to do any of this. Also, TakeOwnership can be a simple registry tweak. I don't advise anyone use it though because Windows doesn't like when you mess with permissions when you don't know what you're doing.I am by no means one who has all the answers, heck I'm lucky to figure things out for myself. Well, good guess, "I don't know what I'm doing." I've been using it for quite awhile. Not all the time but when frustration gets to a peak. I don't know why when I own the device, I set it up with me as administrator that I have to be told I can't do thls and I can't do that, when the functions are perfectly normal functions. Nothing out of the ordinary. AND, the google help links are so many and so confusing. But glad to report using TakeOwnerShip has not wrecked a device yet. I do use it selectively. And maybe because I am the owner and admin is why the TakeOwnerShip program does not wreck my device. BTW I've had computers since the late 80's, on the web before Windows. I've been around the block, not a newbie. But thanks!! I've managed to go through many computers and never had to trash one. (looking for wood to knock on, my head will do) :-)
