If I do a mirror, does it mean cloning?

If I do a mirror of my C Drive, which is also my system drive, does it mean
that when my C Drive crashes and I restore the mirror to a new hard drive and
use this new drive to be my new C Drive, will I be able to boot up my PC, as
if I had done a cloning of my C Drive? Is this the same as cloning?

No, it's not the same. "Mirror" means to only copy the files. Other data like
MBR or boot loader are not transfered.

Is there any plan to include MBR and boot loader?
FFS is such a wonderful product and I will tell you why. I've tried a few
products that claim to be able to handle long filenames but they do not work.
Not only that, these software will tell me the drive had been successfully
copied but when I check, those long file names are either not copied over or
they are copied over truncated. For FFS, it copies every character over. Not
only that, when I restore it to a deep nested sub-directory, it cannot be
opened, which is the usual case but when I restore it higher up the sub-
directory so that the 260 characters for windows file system is not breached,
the files are all there and they are workable.

I've only good words to say for your product. Is there any way I can donate to
have MBR and boot loader to be included? This will make FFS not only a file
sync software, but also a system backup solution, I believe. Am I correct?

Currently there are no plans to include copying data other than files,
directories and symbolic links. The reason is cloning a partition is a
completely different scenario with different needs. FFS is designed to work
with files and compare folder hierarchies while cloning a partition is almost
orthogonal in behavior.
