Now all works as it should.

Re: Remove "sync.ffs_lock"... won't go away
If the LockDirectoriesDuringSync flag is set to false, what risk do I run?
And why did this just start showing up in the last couple of weeks?... Puzzling to me, because nothing has changed, except a time frame of ~20-25days (been out of state 2wks, w/computer shut down and left behind), and this ...

Remove "sync.ffs_lock"... won't go away [Solved]
After Comparison, the "sync.ffs_lock" screen below, appears, I check the "Don't ask me again" box, but it continues to reappear after the next comparison. These appearances just started ~2wks ago.
It doesn't seem to hurt anything, but what do I do to stop the annoying reappearance?

Why would the notification sounds be grayed out and not functioning?

Re: Parallel file operations
I guess more "trial & error" testing is in order, but was hoping that had already been tested, and that there was a suggested number of parallel ops. You'll have to run more tests to know, but sounds like even 4 -> 8 threads doesn't add any benefit either xCSxXenon, 04 Sep 2022, 14:04

Re: Parallel file operations
That's a very theoretical question and depends on what your hardware is. For most people on here, a single thread will be just as fast as any other amount of threads, if not faster.
While certainly not cutting edge, it's no slouch either:

Re: Cannot write modification times...
Yes, this is an issue with Linux Mint essentially...
I've spent 6+hrs today searching on how to implement "futimens", but for love nor money, I can't find anyway to implement it... But I will continue to search.
Funny thing is, the "Mod Times" were written to the SD card until May 12th. So the ...

Re: Cannot write modification times...
The SD card is mounted into "/media/hap/". Whoever implemented this mount point apparently didn't implement "futimens" (and maybe even returned the bogus error code EPERM?).
SD cards are considered removable media, the same as USB removable media, and auto-mounts itself, when either inserted, or ...

Re: Cannot write modification times...
It appears that the lack of "Modification Time" being written, is definitely a Linux FFS issue, and not a W10 FFS issue. The "Mod Times" are written to the SD card backup media in the W10 version of FFS, but are not written to the same SD card backup media in the Linux version of FFS.

Re: Cannot write modification times...
Well, my "Q" has been answered.... "the old-fashioned way".

"Cannot write modification times" warning has just started showing up as of today.
My question is what effect will this have on future comparisons, or will it just be these annoying warnings?

That's the answer I was looking for.
I had poked around, but didn't try the "minus" button, out of fear I'd have to redo the session profile all over again.

Perhaps Linux/Mac sub-sections detailing the subtle differences.
That would still comply with the 1 manual philosophy.
There are many new Linux/Mac converts that struggle with the learning curve a new OS presents... But most of the "old" Linux crowd don't have this problem, just the new folks.

In the session shown below, should I want to run only 1 portion of the session, say "DropboxCopy", is it possible to run only that part, or does the session have to run all 7 parts as a whole?

... This works fine on Windows. Have not tested on Linux/macOS.
I dual boot W10/Linux Mint20.3, and have not noticed this phenomena happening on W10, but with persistence on Linux Mint20.3, probably because I spend most of my time on Linux.
Perhaps, one day, more time will be spent developing ...

FFS saves the last sync date upon being closed regularly.
If you reboot with FFS still open, the last sync date is not saved.
As a test, I tried rebooting both ways, closed, then open...

FFS Manual must target Linux users also, and not just Windows. There are enough differences between Windows and Linux OS's, to warrant a dedicated ".pdf" manual for Linux users, or at least include those differences in the current manual. I'm thinking that your deleted files should be in your "Recycle bin", or at least that is where mine are set to go after the Synchronization process deletes a file.
Check your "Synchronization Settings" to see where deleted files are set to go.

Would be nice to be able to set a particular compare/sync variant as the default. A radio button for the default variant of comparison, and a radio button for the default variant of synchronization. How hard could that be?
