I'm using the latest version 8.4 and realized a strange behavior with the filter option.
In the exclude part I added *.msf (Thunderbird index files) which worked immediately.
But I had to specify *\ vmware*.log (instead of vmware*.log) to exclude VMware log files.
In general *.<extension> works ...

Disabled the network before the installation according to thread.
Avira Antivirus Pro was ON.
Installation without any issues.

What changed since version 7.9?
The AV was always active during the last 15 installations.
Scanning the FreeFileSync_8.0_Windows_Setup.exe file don't report any issues (virus).

When trying to install the release 8.0 I immediately get the error message:
Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service.
There are many GBs free on the disks and in the memory.
