Adding New Files to Backup. Settings Reommended

I have an external hard drive that I backup my work computer to. I just want to occasionally add files that have been added since the last backup.
Can someone give me the settings I should use to do this?
Thanks.

Sync files within a folder to different locations

I recently posted about some files that I lost after doing a sync.
I found the file containing the lost files and now need to put them back in their respective locations.
To clarify, here's what I got.

Inside the source Folder, 'RecycleBin', are other folders such as 'Folder A', 'Folder B' etc ...

Re: title of folder created from sync?

I found the folder. It was titled 'RecycleBin.ffs_tmp' and it was in the host computer's 'Recycle Bin'. I'll have another question related to moving/syncing these files back. Will post link soon.
Thank you!

UPDATE: Here's the link to my question I just posted that's related to this issue.

File Deletions after Portable Sync

I ran a sync using FreeFileSyncPortable (6.2) and the 'Update' setting and it deleted a bunch of my files.
Looks like I found the files on the originating computer's 'recycle bin' but can someone tell me what I did wrong here.

Re: Installing on portable hard drive

I figured it out. Seems the portable option isn't available on macs. So I opened the installer in Windows (via my Parallels) and installed portable to my external hard drive.

If you could please help me with a backup question I have posted here https://freefilesync.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t ...

How do I set the portable Free File Sync to backup (with settings like 'mirror', 'update' already configured) instantly when I plug the external hard drive into the computer I'm looking to backup?
I'd like to be able to just plug in the hard drive and forget about it, knowing it'll backup the way I ...

Installing on portable hard drive

Can I install FFS on a portable hard drive?
I'd like to be able to install on a portable drive and then plug in at my work computer and have FFS automatically backup a specific location of files.
Is this possible?
Thanks
