Re: Error message I don't understand
First thank you for sticking with me. I'm sorry to be so dense but don't understand what to delete. What "version" (version of what) are you referring to? I only have my D drive and my back up drives. There's nothing I want to delete. I don't want to lose anything on the backup drives. I just want ...

Re: Error message I don't understand
Maybe I'm not explaining clearly. I want to copy my D drive to my F Drive (backup). Note my D Drive is current data only while my F Drive contains much more data going back many years.
I have 4 options: 2 Way, Mirror, Update and Custom. I choose Update which, according to FFS, should "Copy new and ...

Error message I don't understand
When I go to update my D drive to my backup drive I get an error message with hundreds of files saying that they will be ignored because they changed in both drives. That is exactly why I am using this program, to sync the changes I've made in the D Drive to my the files in my backup drive! I've ...

Re: FFSync Lost
Perhaps I misunderstand mirroring, but my D Drive (internal) has current year and last 2 years of photos on it while my H Drive (external) has 30 years of photos, don't want that mirrored on D. What I do is sync new and updated files from D to H and also to G (external) so I have two complete ...

Re: FFSync Lost
Trust.pdf you referred to was saved in 2017 and has not changed at all. Not sure what you mean by PNG. It is a pdf in all my drives as saved.
Doesn't matter though because, as you suggested, I installed an earlier version (arbitrarily selected 12.3) and it worked perfectly!! I am so relieved. A ...

Re: FFSync Lost
I don't understand. I keep my current files and the previous 2 years on my D Drive. I send these files to my H drive (and a matching G drive) once a month. H & G contain many years of data. All that I want to send to them are any changes that have been made to files on D. So I mirror H & G, but D ...

I don't know what you mean by all 3 pages and when I try to copy and paste a screen shot nothing is pasted, that's why I used a document.

Re: FFSync Lost
"Update database file to detect changes"
Don't see that as an option.
The attached screen shot shows the errors I get. There are 2550 of them.

Re: FFSync Lost
Thxs for the reply, I am using Synchronize Update. The error message is that files (specifically named) are different between my D Drive and H Drive and FFS cannot determine which Drive to update. Of course they need to be modified/added to H.
Many of these files are simple word documents that have ...

FFSync Lost
Today when I tried to sync/update my D Drive with my external backup (update D to H) I got a an error message saying FFS doesn't know which disc to update! Somehow FFS says it's confused because some files in both drives are different. Of course they are, that's why I'm updating my external drive so ...
Re: Time
Plerry: Thank you but that kind of defeats the purpose of why I've subscribed to FFS. Using Macrium I daily update back up my internal D drive (which consists of data I use regularly) to an external drive E.

Re: Time
Rube: I'm not using any settings, I just turn on FFS and browse to my D drive on the left, my F drive on the right and click on update.

Time
Before when I wanted to update my back up drives, Update took a few minutes to read the back up drive and then a few seconds to update. Now every time I go to update a backup drive it takes 2-3 hours (!!) to read my back up drive. Today right after after doing this, I added one document to my data ...

Problem with Comparison of two Drives
I'm a new user. I first backed up my internal Data drive to two different external back up drives. I then ran a comparison run between the two drives to double check that they were identical. However many of my files in one external backup drive had a notation "can not find file".
I then started ...
