Hello,
I use FreeFileSync to backup files from my Windows 10 to a NTFS external drive connected to a QNAP. I use sFTP protocol to copy files and I get an error everytime I try to transfer a file with "%20" in the filename:
Erreur: Impossible d'écrire le fichier "sftp://admin@192.168.78.152/share ...

Re: Detects no change but there are many
Ohhh I missed an error!
The error is :
LIBSSH2_ERROR_TIMEOUT: L'opération a expiré après 30 secondes. [libssh2_sftp_readdir]
Can I know which file or subfolder causes this error?

Detects no change but there are many
I use FreeFileSync since many years and I always could trust it.
Somehow now it's not seeing many changes while comparing my network folder to my SFTP backup.
I did ask to compare this :
Source : \\COMPUTER\Share
Destination : sftp://user@ipaddress:22/share/hddname/backup/computername/share ...

Re: Allow user to create custom variable for paths
Plerry, you are wrong. The manual page you refer to needs a .cmd file to set the custom environment variable before running the .ffs_batch file. I would like this feature built-in without the need of a .cmd file.

Re: Feature Request - temporarily disable one or more folder pairs during a sync
A checkbox to enable or disable the folder pairs should be safer. If you remove pair of folders and "Save by mistake" you'll lose all the original configuration...

I understand that there are workarounds like that but it should be easier to be done...

Check box to disable some folder pairs in a job definition
It should be great to have a check box to disable paths in a job definition with multiple folder pairs.
Some sync batchs are really long to proceed and sometime we got sync errors in just one folder pair. If we had a check box to disable some paths to sync only some folder pair and ignore the other ...

Allow user to create custom variable for paths
It should be great to add a way to create custom variables for paths within the global configuration of FreeFileSync. I think theses variables should be saved in the "GlobalSettings.xml" file.
With this variables, we should be able to change the backup location just by editing the variable value ...

Re: Time of "Last Sync" not updated
Yeah I understand that... but I think it need to be fixed.
At least maybe a workaround can be in place like reading the log directory and check if the date of the latest log file match with the last sync date written in the GlobalSettings.xml. If not then, show use the log date instead of the last ...

It's a really bad design... The file should not stay open all the time... It should be open to get the config at first and when you have to edit something...

Re: Time of "Last Sync" not updated
Still not work. The problem is when FreeFileSync GUI is open at the same time as a scheduled task is running in background. This causes the issue and this task last sync info will not be updated.

Add an checkbox to allow inherit main filters in local filters
Hello,
When we configure local exclusion filters with filters that are almost the same as the main exclusion filters, we have to copy all the main filters in the local filters.
Example :
[==== Main exclusion filters ====]
\System Volume Information\
\$Recycle.Bin\
\Recovery\
\RECYCLER ...

Last sync info is wrong
Hello,
There is a bug with the last sync time in the UI. If the last sync was not made directly from the UI (using the task planner instead for example), the sync time will remain wrong until a new compare is done.
Could you please fix this or add a feature to force a refresh?
You can take a look ...

Re: Temporary disable sync path entries
This is the only thing missing in the software in my opinion!
It can be usefull when testing paths in a batch with multiple paths.
In addition, we could need this to remove a path from the backup but maybe we would like to keep all the configuration there to enable it later in time.
Thank you

Sorry everyone,
My bug was caused by a filter which excluded every files in the destination folder. Eveything is working fine now!
Shame on me!

Destination folder not created and no error in the log file!
Hello,
I configured a batch file which includes 2 variables in the destination path. The error log contains a warning but no file were copied (it should trigger an error!). Here's the warning :
23:00:04 Warning: The following folders do not yet exist:
\\TVS471\access\Backup\Quotidien\Thu\23h00 ...
