Please may I "bump" this as no reply to date and newer topics are being answered and I am worried it may be overlooked.
Is it possible and are you willing to allow hiding of the name column in a future version release.
Many thanks

Why can't I remove Name column?
Why can't I deselect (the Greyed out) "Name" column. I ask because if I select (as I always do) to display "Full Path", Date and Size columns then the "Name" column is superfluous as the file name is included in the "Full Path" column. Consequently space is wa...

Re: 1) Windows Event Viewer VSS Error Messages 2) Safely Shut Down Ext USB Hard Drive after uisng FFS
Thanks Zenju :) 1) Yes a local configuration issue is what I found blurb on but have no idea what. I have noticed Window 7 (x64) and my system do not like one of my USB ScanDisk Flash sticks often causing a Kernal-PnP Warning message but nothing ever goes wrong. It always safely removes but still I ...

Re: New SFTP select Folder Feature
Thanks for the very fast reply and insight to your thinking. Much appreciated. I agree making them obvious initially is a good move coz I noticed them and had a look. Usually for my needs, FFS has always works very well (basic home PC)and much of the great work you do on important features for many ...

1) Windows Event Viewer VSS Error Messages 2) Safely Shut Down Ext USB Hard Drive after uisng FFS
Hi Zenju :), ONLY WHEN YOU HAVE TIME, please can you advise me. 1) Windows Event Viewer VSS Error Messages When I open FFS and run my configurations the backup always works fine but (as today) I occasionally get VSS Windows Event Viewer Error. (SEE BELOW for one today) It definitely is in response t...

New SFTP select Folder Feature
Hi Zenju, Thanks for the latest version of FFS. Just an enquiry of interest (and certainly NOT A COMPLAINT). Is there any chance, in future, that you may give Users an Option to choose whether to display the SFTP buttons or not. I ask purely, so that the GUI can be a little less busy for those who n...

Re: Account Hijacking by Sourceforge
I would advise the maintainers tomove to another provider e.g. Github, since Sourceforge is know to perform feats of Account hijacking and Malware insertion. Source: http://seclists.org/nmap-dev/2015/q2/194 There seems to be further movement on this issue suggesting Sourceforge are backtracking on ...

Re: Please advise preferrable setting for the Global Setting "Copy NTFS Permissions"
My Apologies jonrichco for not responding faster. I have just lived through an extremely uncomfortable day. Re: Please advise preferrable setting for the Global Setting "Copy NTFS Permissions"
gdhm: I agree with Zenju on both points (i) I would not turn off UAC - I only see it about twice per week, and I have c 100 programs installed under 8.1 and (ii) system backup every week seems like overkill. I take an image of any new computer that I buy before and after killing crapware, then take...

Re: Please advise preferrable setting for the Global Setting "Copy NTFS Permissions"
:) Hi Zenju, I am happy its a "simple misunderstanding" (probably due to cultural and translation). You have always been helpful and pleasant to me in the past. I looked at your link and  I agree I would have been confused if I (who uses an Administrator account) got such a message an...

Re: Please advise preferrable setting for the Global Setting "Copy NTFS Permissions"
I regret you felt the need for apparent sarcasm in your 2 replies to me Zenju. I apologize that I, an ordinary 63 year old retired Home User who loves FFS, sort advice from more knowledgable Forum members rather than take a risk and guess. "..If you don't know what these are, then you don't nee...

Please advise preferrable setting for the Global Setting "Copy NTFS Permissions"

Re: Version 6.14 only has source zip file to download
Yes I agree with jonrichco and found this a few downloads back.
The top right download link is purely a link ("https://freefilesync.org/download.php" that recycles to the page the user is already, on which is pointless

Why aren't all pairs in a Confguration displayed by default (if not too many to display) ?
I like to see all my pairs (currently a Maximum of 10) when I select a config file as it is easier to analyse. I appreciate use the mouse cursor to increase the height to show all pairs but why is this necessary? If I have more than 6 pairs FFS shows 6½ by default and introduces a up/down scroll bar...

Re: Reordering the pairs that FFS does in synchronization
1) I too would like have a GUI-feature to move the directory pairs up and down. The reason being that in one of my configurations. I have 10 pairs. Some are from the same partition or initial root (i.e. C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\...., some are not. In recent months I have added new pairs but I w...

Re: FFS DEFAULT Settings for: Synchronization (F8) options
Currently not and I'm not sure if it is needed. What about simply saving a config and naming it "default"? Wouldn't this already solve the requirement? Alternatively it would be possible to programmatically bind the "New" button to a special configuration named `<new>` on GUI si...
