Why does FFS need regular access to the Recycle Bin? It is a sync, so it shouldn't be deleting anything should it?The recycle bin is not available for "\\Desktop\d\Folder_name".
Ignore and delete permanently each time recycle bin is unavailable?
What does 'The recycle bin is not available'

In a Two-Way sync, I received a warning:

Depending on your sync settings, a sync involves copying files (that exist on one side only), overwriting/updating existing files (of which a newer version is present at the opposite side) and/or deleting files (that have been deleted from the opposite side).
And, depending on your Delete and Overwrite settings, pre-existing files that are deleted or overwritten by the FFS sync will be Permanently deleted/lost, will moved to the Recycle bin (if available) or will be moved to the Versioning location. Your choice.

Thank you for your prompt and thorough reply
I'm using two-way sync with file time and size settings.
If file A1 has been deleted, there is no file (thus no date), so how does the sync know that the deletion time of A1 is later than the last change to the other copy A2? That is, changes may have been made to A2 ignorant of the fact that A1 has been deleted (inadvertently, say), so, you would want A2 to 'win' in the next sync and be restored as A1.
Also, why would access to Recycle Bin be denied? I take it that is a system setting somewhere?

FreeFileSync (FFS) use a *.ffs_db database file that stores the file-status of the left, respectively right base location (and its subdirectories) at the end of each sync. When running a new sync, FFS compares the actual file status of each side with the one stored in the database files and is thus aware of changes that have been made to either side since the last sync.
For a Two-way sync, any modification (new, overwritten, deleted) on one side only of any given file will result in the opposite side getting modified accordingly.
If both sides have changed since running the last sync, FFS does not know what to do and takes no sync action. Instead it reports this as a conflict that needs to be resolved manually.

That one I can't help you with.

This is great. I do not consider this a warning or at least I am OK with this. I do not want to program to flag it as a warning. The pop up screen is turned off but there is still a yellow warning flag for that sync after every time it is sync to a SD card. Is there a way for it to NOT to place the yellow warning flag and assume that everything processed without a warning. Thanks for the great product. I am a proud doner subscriber for this wonderful program.

@palmlart
If the warning you get relates to the RecycleBin not being available for your SD card, you can change your Delete and Overwrite setting from RecycleBin to Permanent for that sync.

Regarding the Recycle Bin, removable storage usually don't have them, hence why the error occurred (this is also the case with USBs, though some portable hard drives have it). Some programs even take advantage of that feature such as VeraCrypt, which recommends mounting containers as removable storage to ensure files are deleted permanently.

Thank you @Plerry and @azure33
In my case, I'm not using SD Cards or any other form of removable storage. I am syncing the internal hard drives of two PC's, A and B, say. The problem is, upon syncing, deleting files from B (to the Recycle Bin) that have already been deleted from A. They are just being totally deleted. I guess it doesn't matter that much as they are in A's Recycle Bin. It would just be nice to suppress the Alerts for that particular situation. Is that possible?

As stated before, you could consider to use Versioning.
Then files that are deleted or overwritten by your sync are moved to an arbitrary, user specified location, where you can retain as many previous versions as you select for as long as you select.
No dependency on Recycle Bins or the availability thereof.

I read all the replies and I do not understand.
I am doing mirroring from PC 1 to PC 2, I am copying the whole of Drive F to Drive F. I tried versioning, making a folder caller 00-Versioning. That threw up errors. I deleted this folder and the recycle bin error came up.
Can you walk me through the configuration steps. I am just an accountant no PC person.

Relaying the errors here would be helpful in getting that resolvedI read all the replies and I do not understand.

If you were still getting Recycle Bin errors when trying to use versioning, you didn't change the deletion settings from "Recycle Bin" to "Versioning"Thank you.

Thank you.
No I just did the default and got Recycle Bin not available.
How/what to I do to change to Versioning. What file/folder do I put into the little slit?

Thank you.
So far so good. I will have to wait for it to finish to see if it is OK.
Now I can start another thread on my next problem
