Hello Everyone
I am wondering if I am not using filesync program to the best of its ability.
For example: I want two drives to be identical. Which is good until they are low on space as it runs out of space adding the new files to the mirrowed drive because I can't find a setting to have it delete stuff no longer there.
For example: right now if say I change something on the source drive like just moving stuff around it wants to delete the stuff from the second drive instead of just adjusting to where the stuff is located.
And last more of a question: is there a way to get filesync to do a drive (source) to a backup but not a drive just a folder on another drive? And if so is there a way to make it autosync every so often?
Can filesync do what I need

Did you check "Use database file"? And if you check it, it takes at least one full normal sync before it will detect changes properly in order to move the files (instead of deleting them and copying them again). It should look something like this if you want to mirror/backup left to right:
Usually you can sync any folder to any folder with FFS, doesn't matter if it's the root of a drive or any subfolder.
For scheduling (autosync) you can use the "Windows Task Scheduler". There are plenty of tutorials on how to use it (I don't use windows, so I barely remember). The selected Program would be something like this:
and arguments:
If you're on linux, things are obviously different.

"C:\path\to\your\config_file.ffs_batch"

Hello
Thanks for the response
I did check the use database before I did the last synch.
Just one more thing how do you get it to delete files first, I've just run into times where it wants to copy files over and there's enough room if the files to delete would be deleted first. Is there a way to set it up to delete the files first then copy?
Thanks for the response
