I'm restoring an 8TB drive from multiple external drive, everytime I launch FFS it scans ALL the folders in the target, and this is time consuming.
Since i'm targeting few folders in UPDATE mode, no files will be written on the others and there's no need to scan them.
Is there a way to limit this?
I know I shloudl put some filters...
xclude not affected folders

This also works for folders.

FreeFileSync always does a full Compare of all Included and not Excluded folders of its left and right base-directory (and their sub-directories).
It must do so, because you can first run a Compare and then still change the selected Sync variant.

If you only need to update a few folders, you may consider to add those few folders to your Include Filter, instead of adding all other folders to your Exclude Filter.
Or, instead of using filters, you can define suitable Multiple Folder pairs for your few folders to be updated.
