Hi there,

I was recently introduced to FFS and would like to use the RealTimeSync feature to automatically backup the USB drive when it is detected by the system. I am using Linux Mint.

On this page (https://freefilesync.org/manual.php?topic=realtimesync) it mentioned to create a ffs_batch file in the root directory of the USB drive - but I am struggling to understand what I need to do populate in this ffs_batch file? This is not apparent in the webpage above.

Is there an example that you could show me please?

Thanks

Thanks Bro. I followed the link that you indicated - but I could not get this to work. Here are my steps to retrace:

1) I created the file BatchRun.ffs_batch by following the link you gave me - and save this to the root directory of the USB drive.

2) The folder that i set to watch for changes is
/media/johndoe/SamsungT1
3) I am using the flatpak version of FreeFileSync and I have determined (together by reading another post on this forum) that FFS can be called up via the following command.
"/usr/bin/flatpak run --branch=stable --arch=x86_64 --command=FreeFileSync --file-forwarding org.freefilesync.FreeFileSync"
so the commandline to run when changes are detected I set to
"/usr/bin/flatpak run --branch=stable --arch=x86_64 --command=FreeFileSync --file-forwarding org.freefilesync.FreeFileSync" /BatchRun.ffs_batch
It doesnt seem to be able to detect the USB drive when i plugged into the PC - and it doesnt seem to start the sync process.

Any ideas?

Thanks

There is no official flatpak version, thus troubleshooting may be difficult...
I also have no experience with FFS specifically on Linux, so I can only speculate. on a Parted Magic distro, my USB mounts as \media\sda1\xxxxx\folder but you don't have 'sda#' in your monitored path. I do not know if that matters and is distro specific, but I don't think it is
