Sync from Server to Server
Hi all,
I want to use FreeFileSync to sync from server1 to server2. My question is now: Are the files copied from server 1 to the remote PC (my laptop) and copied then again onto server2, or are the files copied directly from server1 to server2?
Thanks.

Re: Copy only Folder Structure
I am aware of the cmd solution, and it is easy but more complicated than FFS ;-) thanks anyway.
I did it the Zenju-way and it worked perfectly. Thanks!

Hey everybody,
I wonder, if it is possible to copy only the folder structure? So I have only a copy of the foldes without any files?
Thanks.

Hi everybody,
same problem, different reason: When I copy manually (by drag&drop) a file to the USB drive at my FritzBox, it gets the time of the copying process. But when FFS copies a file to the FB, the file gets a time 2 h in the future of the copying process. Does somebody know why? Because ...

Re: Time Stamp of copy process
Okay when I use mirror, it shows that all! files on the right side are newer for some reason (incl. my modified file of course). So probably my FritzBox runs with a different time zone (2 h in the future). But I do not know why yet.
So thank you very much.

Re: Time Stamp of copy process
Did not work neither.
To clearify: I have modified a powerpoint file by adding the letter "a" in a textfield => size of the file is the same, but not the modification time.
It is not copied / not marked as newer anyway.

elchico
Try leaving blank the value in "Ignore time shift" in ...

Re: Time Stamp of copy process
okay, I wrote the respective FFS-file with FTP connection and "compare date and size" + ignore 1 min offset. But when I open + save + close a ppt or word file, FFS does not copy the new file, even after 3-5 min after change.
I have attached the respective file.
Have you an idea for this?

Re: Time Stamp of copy process
Hi Plerry,
I was using Netdrive as a third party product for my FTP connection so far, but if FreeFileSync would support this time stamp transfer, I would change towards FFS.
Is it in general a problem of FTP or a problem of the softwares?

elchico

Time Stamp of copy process
Hello together,
I am wondering, why all copied files get the timp stamp of the copy process and not the original one. Is there a reason, why the original time stamp is not copied, too?

elchico
