Format sync job names
Is there a way to format the text in the synchronization job names in the configuration list with bold or italic type? I know I can change the background color of each listing. Thanks.

Re: Permissions problem between Mac OS Mojave and Catalina
Problem solved! I'm not sure if this solution is the best one, or the only one. Nevertheless, for the sake of others who may have the kinds of permissions problems I had in Mac OS with FFS, here's how I fixed it: I erased the content of the main synced directories on my target location, my MacBook ...

Cannot delete file Error Code 13
Hey, Mac users! I had recently updated my Macbook Air to Catalina and have since downgraded it back to Mac OS Mojave. I'm getting this error code now when I try to sync my iMac (also Mojave) with my MacBook Air. I've ensured that "everyone" has permission to read and write for everything on the ...

Permissions problem between Mac OS Mojave and Catalina
I sync an iMac with a Macbook Air with FFF. I upgraded the MacBook Air to MacOS Catalina (the iMac is still using Mojave), and now when I start a sync, FFF reports it cannot set directory locks for the synced folders (see screenshot). I've tried rewriting the volume path and resetting the permission ...

Cannot find FFS version number online
I just updated to FFS 10.13 for Mac. I'm getting a window when I start FFS that reports FFS can't find the version number online. I've downloaded FFS 10.13 several times and tried reinstalling, to no avail. Why am I getting this window?

Re: Error code 13 permission denied for remote sync
After a lot of experimentation, I got this task working again. I had to redo the directory permissions, and I instructed FFS to bypass the offending directory--I don't include anything in it, anyway.

Re: Error code 13 permission denied for remote sync
Thanks, Falconer. Yes, I've done this to get FFS to work again on my iMac after updating to Mojave, but I sync the files from my iMac to my MacBook Air via my home network. FFS isn't installed on the MacBook Air, so how do I get FFS to work again with that one folder on the MacBook Air? Works fine ...

Error code 13 permission denied for remote sync
I'm getting Error Code 13 permission denied when I try to sync to my MacBook Air over my home network. The Pictures folder on the MacBook shows the error. All other folders on the MacBook sync just fine, and they all have the same permissions. I don't see an option on the MacBook's System ...

Re: "Cannot set directory locks" warning
Glad I'm not the only one.
I'm also using FFS v10.4. I have this problem only with backing up one file: Bookmarks.plist in the Safari folder. Permissions seem OK, so I'm stumped.

"Cannot set directory locks" warning
A few days ago (perhaps with my update to MacOS Mojave?) I started getting the attached warning when trying to backup Safari's Bookmarks.plist file. Same thing happens when I try to create a new backup configuration for this file. I'm finding the file location in Finder and dragging and dropping it ...

These suggestions would be helpful. One critical error I've noticed in a lot of user manuals is that they assume users know much more than they actually do know.

Re: Help with filter phrase
Thanks, Gianni1962. Right-clicking and excluding that way works just fine. I didn't see I could do that! From User Manual: Exclude Items via Filter
For simple exclusions, just right-click and exclude one item or a list of items directly via the context menu on main dialog.Gianni1962, 05 Mar 2018, 11:33

Help with filter phrase
I'm trying to exclude files for backup in my Mac's "/Photos Library.photoslibrary/" directories. Note the space in the spelling. I've entered "/Photos Library.photoslibrary/" in the exclusion list, but FFS ignores the rule, I think because of the space. How do I correct this and get FFS to exclude ...

Procedural question
I sync files and folders from my iMac to an external HD on an ethernet connection and a MacBook Air on my wifi network. When I run jobs for the external HD over ethernet, the scanning is very fast--it's immediate. When I run jobs to the MacBook Air over wifi, FFS scans through all the files and ...

Re: Sync one file, not folder
So, one obvious option is to choose the shared part of the path of both files
C:\Users\[MyUserName]\Library
as your left base location and add the file specific parts
Safari\Bookmarks.plist and
Group Containers\UBF8T346G9.Office\User Content\Templates\normal.dotm
to your include filter (by ...

The two files I'd like to back up are:

Sync one file, not folder
I hate to ask what to some might seem like a dumb question, but can FFS back up only one file, not its whole directory? Actually, there are three separate files in three unrelated directories I'd like to back up this way. If FFW can do just one file, I'd create a batch job for all three tasks. If ...
