CURLE_OPERATION_TIMEDOUT on seemingly random files
I'm using FFS to sync my MC mods and worlds to a folder on Google Drive, using the built in integration. It copies mostly everything no problem, but a few random files have this error. I have tried manually downloading them from Google Drive into their respective locations, on the next sync they ...

Re: "Sync completed" sound doesn't play
I haven't found a fix for this. I'm on windows and no version has ever worked. I've tried changing the sound and stuff but nothing. The comparison completed sound does indeed work

Zip and download folders with many small files from remote locations
When downloading many small files from Google Drive or other remote sources, the overhead from starting download, downloading, stopping download, etc can make it take significantly longer than the download speed of the Internet connection would suggest. Zipping and downloading those files all at ...

Open window in the same location as manual sync when using RealTimeSync
I suppose this would apply to any command-line driven invocation of FFS, but anyways, I have two displays. Normally when I do syncs, I open them on the secondary display. However, when using RealTimeSync (I suppose it would also happen when using the command line) the window shows up on the main ...

"Sync completed" sound doesn't play
I've set a sound in the settings menu for "Sync completed" but it never plays. The file scan completed sound does play, but not the sync completed sound.

Re: FFS not detecting changes?
Yes, and yes. I always check the letters before syncing, and yes the view filters are set up correctly, that's one of the things I checked. Also, due to the way the sync is set up, it should detect a large amount of things to sync if the letters are incorrect. But they are.

Re: FFS not detecting changes?
Lol yes, I checked that, but they also haven't changed since the last time, and additionally I could observe the sync.ffs_db files getting re-created.Are you sure the locations set in FFS are still correct? xCSxXenon, 07 Nov 2021, 18:34

FFS not detecting changes?
I use FFS to back up many of my personal files onto 3 seperate drives, one secondary internal SSD and two external HDDs connected via USB, one all the time, and one in my glovebox which I bring inside once a month ("off site" backup.)
Recently I went to do a backup after a while of forgetting ...

Re: [Suggestion] "current file" progress in the progress window.
Oh, that's a good one. I think that would be easier than implementing a new function to wait until an item has been transferred for long enough.

Re: [Suggestion] "current file" progress in the progress window.
Yeah, that would certainly be plenty. I was thinking 1 sec just because I'm impatient, but 5 sec would be fine too, in practice, I'm sure.

Re: Dealing with Google Drive's horrible duplicate file problem
Apologies for the bump, but I realise this issue is essentially solved by syncing directly to and from Google Drive using said new feature. FreeFileSync being in charge means no duplicates will ever be uploaded. Before, I was syncing to a folder on my computer, which would then be synced by Google ...

Re: [Suggestion] "current file" progress in the progress window.
I think it would be a useful piece of information to know. There could be a delay of 1s or so, to prevent glitchy animations and prevent large overhead when a lot of small files are being processed. But when large files are being processed, it will inform how far along it is.

[Suggestion] "current file" progress in the progress window.
There's currently no indicator of the progress of the current file in the progress window, so for large files it would be nice to know how far along it's got. I was thinking a green underlay behind the filename at the top, similar to Windows Explorer's loading animation.

Re: Dealing with Google Drive's horrible duplicate file problem
Yep, I understand how it works. My issue is that it ruins file-sensitive sync operations (like Minecraft worlds). So may I suggest an option or something to allow FreeFileSync, in certain situations, (say, when both files have the exact same data content, which has happened to me before) to just ...

Dealing with Google Drive's horrible duplicate file problem
Hello there,
I would just like to express some concerns with Google Drive, and also hopefully kickstart something to have FFS work around Drive's stupid problems until such time as the Drive team realizes how stupid they are.
So, basically, if you don't already know, Google Drive allows multiple ...
