It depends: Both syncs will run the following steps, which might interleave or not:

1. write temp DB left
2. write temp DB right
3. rename/overwrite DB left
4. rename/overwrite DB right

FreeFileSync without internet access should work fine. The "FreeFileSync <version unknown> is available" only comes up when the FreeFileSync website cannot be accessed, but other websites are still available. The program then concludes, there's something wrong with the FreeFileSync website...

I've reverted back to the old shortcuts syntax and updated the FreeFileSync 13.0 without version increment because it's a minor issue.

There is nothing to resolve from FreeFileSync's side. You could contact your AV software vendor and report a false-positive detection.

Same issue here. It's probably indeed infected on the server side. Better stick with version 12 until this is resolved. You can manually remove unused devices on the list.

Downloads from outside of China frequently get corrupted because garbage TCP packages are deliberately inserted by [government agency]. There is nothing FreeFileSync could do about this. Try downloading a few times, until it works.

I see "/silent" primarily as a business feature that is required for mass-installation. For private use, manual installation should be fine, and then use the auto-updater to keep current.
