interesting... so this we know already:
- first, FFS has nothing to do with it, it's a windows problem (as reflected in DOS, the "real" name did not change, and so FFS correctly only detects a change in desktop.ini and not in the dir. name)
- you get the entry "[.ShellClassInfo ...

Re: Windows Explorer Folder name change not found by FFS comparison when the folder has a custom Icon assigned to it
- same version : win 7 - 64 bit - WITH SP1
- what's in your desktop.ini after changing the file-name? (normally nothing more than the icon)
- what happens when you delete desktop.ini? (of course the icon is removed, but what happens to the file-name)
- success!

Re: Windows Explorer Folder name change not found by FFS comparison when the folder has a custom Icon assigned to it
I tried to recreate your problem (make dir, set custom icon stored in desktop.ini, and finally change the name), but when checking via dos-cmd, the name is correctly changed to the new name. I tested under win 7 sp1 64-bit.
What did you mean by "desktop.ini reflects this change"? Here desktop.ini ...

same here, also keeping version 7.9
FFS is a great program (maybe the best sync software you can get), giving little or -in my case- none errors in its use, so it's a real pity that the only troubles/complaints come from a forced install method (install.dat, etc.), and/or a rather "unlucky ...

Re: Skip folder pair
just delete the folder-pairs and save (save AS) the config or the script under a new name, then close FFS or go to another config WITHOUT saving (check if FFS is set to remember you about not saved configs (default setting)); this way your old folder-pairs are kept under their old config name

Re: Automatic Height Folder List
if you mean how many folder pairs are visible, you can edit the maximum height in 'GlobalSettings.xml'
e.g. to have always 15 (if used) rows visible, edit the following line, setting it to 15:
<FolderPairsVisible Max="15"/>

@ Arunderan
hello, i had the same problem:
reason seems to be that Comodo adds ADS streams to the files it has checked, purposedly to make later scannings faster, etc., which explains why not all your files are re-synced, but as this alters the file-dates, it may result in a continuous re-sync ...

Re: How to simply copy a folder? Duh
just create one or more new sync configurations with only the folders you want to sync on both drives; set your sync preferences and go (obviously, you can delete (or at least don't run it) your previous "full drive" configuration)

Re: Exclude Checkbox should not let disappear the item!!
YES, same for me (i already asked this in the forum); although you can still set the option "View type" (below left on the main FFS screen) to ('re-')display the deselected items, the old behaviour works much more intuitive and secure (at least for me) - thanx

checkboxes: minor "feature" restore
When temporary excluding a file from syncing by unchecking the checkbox, the file disappears from the list (unless you make it visible again by clicking the appropriate view type button). I believe this automatic behaviour started a few versions ago. I think keep seeing the files you select/deselect ...

ADS-streams
Zenju, once again, thanx for the program.

FFS keeps synchronizing the same files
hi Zenju, first a big thanks for this program, it's probably the best sync of all.

FFS keep trying to sync the same newly added files (mirror sync, and the left file is always "newer", 'cause the file date is always "today", so it's ...

hi Zenju, indeed you're right: the GUI is well done and it's obvious you put a lot of work in the details too. Although everyone may have different preferences, i think the interface is clean and clear, and easier to understand than many other sync-programs.
Keep up the good work and thanx.
