Thanks for your response.
The Z drive is a mapped drive over our local lan from a second pc that my wife uses, which is also running Win10 with associated recycle bin.
All I want to do is for FFS to perform the sync, but ignore any reference to any files in either the local or remote recycle bin ...

Unable to ignore the Recycle bin
Maybe an obvious solution, but FFS insists on tring to access the recylce bin each time I perform a sync, even though I thought I'd included a filter to exclude this (in a few different formats in the hope at least one would work).

Re: Sync errors, FFS 10.2
I’ve now found a workaround. I can map the networked drives in Windows explorer, then FFS those networked drives, and it works...very odd, but at least I’m up and running again.

Sync errors, FFS 10.2
FFS has been functioning normally, but over recent months now gives error 5 access denied errors when trying to sync across a wireless network.
I am able to write/read/modify files manually across the same network into the same folders that I'm trying to sync, yet FFS fails, see the attachment for a ...

Re: FFS no longer funcions - directory lock etc.
Ah, found the problem. Not sure why, but I'd lost the configuration of my "homegroup" in Windows 10......no idea why, but at least FFS is now working again!

FFS no longer funcions - directory lock etc.
FFS has run without issues in the past, but now fails (not sure whether an update to FFS or Win10 caused the issue). I have not changed any file or directory permissions in the mean time on either the local or remote machine.
I get many errors, a sample of which is here:

I am already an administrator, and I also set "run as administrator" on the propertires of the freefilesync.exe file, but still get the same problem.

Can't backup outlook .pst mail files over network
I'm using the latest version of FFS. I am backing up all my userfiles over a network, and all files synchronise without problem except for Outlook mail files. I am logged in as an Administrator, and also have tried to run tFFS as Admisistrator, but still these outlook files fail. See the attached ...

Re: How to indicate FFS has completed
I've been running FFS for a few years, and never seen any notification area icon. So, same question as Waltz, "how do we get the indication in the notification area for the first time?"
As a side comment, I would say that FFS is an excellent utility that I will continue to use, so well done. It just ...

Re: How to indicate FFS has completed
I agree with Waltz, I don't see FFS listed in the apps list.
Regardless of this, I happen to have the "Always show all icons in the notification area" set to on, but no sign of FFS appearing.

Re: How to indicate FFS has completed
I don't ever see the progress dialog (or any other indication that ffs is running) when running the batch file backup.
The ffs backup also runs at cumputer startup, usually before any user has logged on.
I did try divetheory's suggestion, thanks, and that does indeed give me a message, but the ffs ...

How to indicate FFS has completed
I've scheduled a task in Task Manager on Windows 10 to run at startup, running a FFS backup plan.
I have two actions, first run the FFS backup, then run a very simple vbs script to display a message:
msgbox("Backup Complete")
the above line being saved as file backupmessage.vbs
