One more note on the synchronization with GoodSync.
Somehow, GoodSync manages to upload files to SharePoint in a way that doesn't change any file's size after uploading. This seems to have to do with GoodSync using the Microsoft Graph interface.
This interface also seems to have the advantage ...

Re: Compare by just file time
I have just found out and tested that at least GoodSync seems to be able to solve the present issue.

Just wanted to briefly note that Syncovery recently has introduced an automatic feature that supposedly solves the file size change problem with SharePoint, apparently even without any special size ignore settings.
However, the setup and user interface of Syncovery is so convoluted and confusing ...

Thanks for the info about RoboCopy. I suppose RoboCopy wouldn't be able to at the same time recognize renamed/moved files and folders, would it?

Yes please separate moves/renames and actual changes.
And please don't show moves/renames on both sides, in different rows.
And for renamed/moved folders, please don't show their (unchanged) contents.

It seems that these are the only comparison options in SyncFolders:
So is there no option to compare file name and time?

Re: Flat versus tree file structure
Thanks for mentioning SyncFolders and Bvckup.
Do you know by any chance whether these two have robust moved/renamed files and folders recognition?
That ideally even works when file size is ignored on compare?

Re: [FEATURE REQUEST] Сompare files only by name. Ignoring extension, size, etc
It's mainly my fault, as I only just saw that the thread title says that the file extension (and date) should also be ignored.
Therefore, it probably makes sense to create a separate topic, which I have done here.

[FEATURE REQUEST] Сompare files only by name and date
I would love to see a mode where file size is ignored during comparison:
Inter alia, this would solve the problem that currently FreeFileSync is not usable for synchronizing to SharePoint.
Thanks for considering this feature request.

That's what levaclaus seems to be saying. My proposal is just to ignore file size when comparing.

Yes please, that would extend the usability of FreeFileSync considerably.
I would actually prefer a variant "File time and name", thus ignoring file size on comparison.

Nope. I have been installing hundreds of portable programs on a second internal hard drive for decades, and this has survived many generations of Windows OSes, not to mention uncountable OS reinstalls.

Re: Ignore (or hide) also the new conflicts
Okay, then I guess there is also no way to "add" the files in question (with lightnings and green arrows) to the set of files with orange lightnings, so that these two groups form a set together for future runs that can then be hidden via the orange lightning button?

Re: Flat versus tree file structure
I think the developer believes that the new tree view is a stroke of genius, which it is in a certain sense. If you only have short paths and many files changed in each path, the new tree view mode probably works very well.
However, this particular case does not usually apply to many users. To the ...

It's a shame because apart from that, there is not one other Sync tool out there that combines blazing speed, ease of use and a friendly GUI like FFS.

Ignore (or hide) also the new conflicts
Hello forum,
can we somehow ignore (or hide) both of the below conflict types (i.e. also the ones in the middle where FFS wants to copy things from left to right)?
The ones at the bottom (with the red lighning) can already be ignored/hidden via the corresponding bottom toolbar button.

Please. Even after weeks and months of daily use, I just can't figure out what this means.
I know this has been changed with the best of intents, but the directory view is simply terrible with anything but very short paths.

Re: Size conflict when sync with sharepoint
This is unrelated to the thread topic. That long list is likely showing a 'move' action for each of those files, since the parent folder name is changed.
Puh, if it's unrelated, the problem is even more severe since then it is implied that FFS shows 2 times 500 files as changed when actually ...

Select entire folder tree more easily?
Hello all,
Is there a way to select a parent folder and all subfolders and files contained therein via the parent folder, in the synchronization preview?
So far I have only been able to do this by manually selecting all subfolders and files in a parent folder via shift-click?
