Re: Is there a way to set "Exit" as a default choice?
Batch files don't meet my current requirement, which is to see the files (and times) on both sides before initiating a transfer. Once the process started, I no longer need to see it, and that is why I suggested to move the exit/reboot/shutdown options to the settings.

Re: Is there a way to set "Exit" as a default choice?
This is my fault. I should have mentioned that a yes or no reply suffices. Thanks for all the posts, but before posting, I research my questions, just to save time for everyone. I used RTS, it's an excellent program and there is nothing wrong with it, but it doesn't meet my needs for the time being ...

Re: Is there a way to set "Exit" as a default choice?
I want the GUI to exit when the sync is completed. I don't want to select 'Exit' it each time.

Is there a way to set "Exit" as a default choice?
Using Linux, I would like set "exit" as my permanent option. Rather than selecting it each time. Is this possible?

Re: Activating GUI with a crontab
The correct syntax turned out to be
crontab works like a swiss made linux watch. Other than editing the crontab, no other file or command is required.
0 * * * * /opt/FreeFileSync/FreeFileSync

Re: Activating GUI with a crontab
Hello therube, I want to see the contents, and control synchronization manually, to be sure I didn't forget updating before turning off the desktop. I also tried Google Drive's through Gnome Online accounts, but I prefer FreeFileSync.

Re: How to create an exclusion to the default compare selection.
Thanks for your reply. Can I set "compare" only for a single folder? I tried compare for all, but found it slow, but retry it again. Currently I change them manually.

Activating GUI with a crontab
I've used RealTimeSync and it works well, but I only need the graphical interface of FreeFileSync to open and that's it.
So, I created this line in crontab, to open the interface hourly, but nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?
0 * * * * env DISPLAY=:1 /opt/FreeFileSync/FreeFileSync

How to create an exclusion to the default compare selection.
The files in the image above are identical, but are excluded under the rules of date stamp differences, (marked as indeterminate). These files are in a single folder, and I want the indeterminate files to be excluded. How can I implement this?

Re: FFS 13 installation in Kubuntu 22.4.3 fails with an error message
The info popped up after it was installed in Kubuntu. Why is it not packaged with the app to avoid stupid posts like mine? I consider FreeFileSync to be one of the best designed softwares in Linux? Very considerate to users. I also used it in Windows with the same opinion.

Re: FFS 13 installation in Kubuntu 22.4.3 fails with an error message
Installed it again for myself only and on start, it was the folllowing message
Error starting "/home/ineuw/FreeFileSync/Bin/FreeFileSync_x86_64":
GTK 2.0 was not found! Please install, e.g. via:
sudo apt install libgtk2.0-0 or
sudo yum install gtk2
It would be helpful to provide this info.

Downloaded the latest version just now, but after installation and starting FFS, it generated the same error message from Kubuntu 22.0.4.3 en_US. So, it's still not working.

If you are syncing to Google Drive, the deleted files will be in the Google Trash folder. Also, the OS saves your deletions, you should look into it.

Due to errors, I created a new Google Drive folder. Is there info on the steps to use FFS to download everything? I expect the online sub-folders to re-create themselves locally.
