Sorry but is the test using a network share on another Windows pc that FAILED to sync the SymLinks!

I have done a test using a local disc destination and a network share destination and the error arise only when the destination is a network share.

Copying symbolic links requires FreeFileSync to be started with administrator rights.

But probably you can create the few variables you need in a .bat script that than launches FFS.

What is your antivirus?
The Windows version?

In "Comparison settings" deselect [x] Include symbolic links or select the (o) Direct option.

Modify the Right side folders so they don't fall exactly in the same folder:

For simple exclusions, just right-click and exclude one item or a list of items directly via the context menu on main dialog.

You do not have to use single quotes or double quotes.

For me this is a job for Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive or DropBox.

Probably the user has been renamed at some point, but the folder is never renamed.

In File explorer, in the address bar it is shown with the current name, but if you put the mouse cursor into it to select the text it is shown with its name on disk.

FFS is a sync tool not a Backup program.

You are misinterpreting all the options.
