Just click the minus symbol to remove it temporarily or select the source/destination in the compare window and hit spacebar.

Re: Slow 'Compare' times

If you were to compare a second time with FFS, it would be almost immediate. My guess it Goodsync is keeping some kind of database between sessions, like a table of contents.

Re: Stop Checking For Updates?

It's more annoying that people running XP are expecting software to still be actively supported for that antiquated OS. As for the updates, I have had no issues, along with others, with it not checking for updates when I uncheck the setting.

Re: Error Code -36: I/O error (bummers) [FSPathMakeRefWithOptions]

I/O errors typically are related to an issue with accessing a location. Whether that is a bunk drive, or drive going out, or something else is impossible to know without peaking around the computer.

Re: RTS runs even when there is no change

You can save the batch job so it runs in a hidden window. As for why it is detecting changes when none are made, there is probably a reason unrelated to FFS/RTS. USB ports going into power save mode, Windows defender pinging it periodically, power plan option, etc.

Re: RTS runs even when there is no change

Well FFS doesn't detect changes at all. See if you have restore points turned on for the external hard drive. If there is any modification to a file or metadata, it will pick up and trigger a sync.

That is correct. You can't compare the one folder with the contents of many. You would have to move all the files on the destination to a single folder.

Re: Synchronizing hardlinks

You may need to give full control to everyone through the security tab on the shared folder in PC2. Symlinks require admin access, but you are only giving admin access on PC1, it doesn't propagate through the network and automatically give you admin access on PC2. Remove all permissions from the sha...

Re: FileSync question

I gotcha. I don't know of a way to do that. There isn't any way to do that in FFS since there is no exact time-span. You may be able to get a batch files that parses the file list and copies only the newest one.

Re: Shutdown not working + thread question

Threads in FFS aren't how many threads of your CPU it uses. It is just a number a parallel transfers. So if you can only transfer 5MB/s because the server limits it, it can open up 4 threads and do 20MB/s essentially.

Re: How to run real time monitor completely hidden

I would wager that you aren't giving it enough time to sync to PC2. If you go to PC2 and use the program, it is going to modify the Data.jcc file before syncing with the file that was modified on PC1 and synced to the NAS. If that happens, now the Data file on PC2, which doesn't have the updated ver...

Re: Detect moved files doesn't seem to work?

I also have this issue sometimes. I sync between my OneDrive and some other local locations, but most times, moving a file or renaming causes FFS to delete and copy a new version. I think the problem is when something externally touches or modifies the folder. If I make a change on my home computer,...
