Your hyperlink displays no files And the rest of your description is too vague To provide any advice. Have you tested against another Cloud Server with your same files? You can als…

Just to be clear I have not lost or deleted anything, and I already have a recycle bin setup on my NAS, I was merely asking a hypothetical question to try to understand how the sof…

[Quote] That was my first link but they were unable to figure it out... Good luck to em I suppose

I'm not able to reproduce this. A "shared with me" folder that is linked to "My drive" is updated correctly in my tests when its content changes. However it seems to take a couple …

Are you able to provide a test login into this server? When no path is specified yet, FreeFileSync detects the home path and uses it as the default when opening the folder picker. …

Thanks for your reply. Can I set "compare" only for a single folder? I tried compare for all, but found it slow, but retry it again. Currently I change them manually.

Test. Create a directory named, TEST, copy that .cfm file & some others where the hidden attribute was set (on the SFTP end), & do an Update sync to a new directory (also called, T…

Ocassionally, I get FFS errors because I drive lost connection. When this happens, ocassioanly it will read that the target files are present because the ".sync.ffs_db" file in the…

As you noticed, I forgot to add the /w or /wait option to at least the first two start-commands in the batch script of my previous reply. See e.g. [URL] Do not add /w or /wait to t…

I've reinstalled completely incl. creating all profiles new. Now it works without this issue.

Well, that behaviour is weird but lines up with what I saw. I have to add that I had to use first aid every time I remounted the drive. But I noticed the name of the drive contains…

Turns out that there was a missing entry in the mount line of fstab. I had forgotten to add [Code] to the mount entry. This has solved the issue in case anyone else has the same tr…

Sehr geehrter Herr Zenju! Thanks a lot for FreeFileSync 13.5! It is working well, no Error-Massage and make a good job. Mit freundlichen Grüßen Siegfried

Thank you Plerry

Noted and Thanks!

Not a good idea. Way more complicated, if not impossible, and likely more confusing down the road.

I have updated dozens of versions and have not lost any settings

Ah the classic 'I've been staring at pixels too long to be competent" error Been there oh so many times

Normally port 21 is reserved for unencrypted connections via traditional FTP. Perhaps you can ask the admin if there is a separate SFTP encrypted port number such as 22 for example…

On a Mac, the Finder retains create and mod dates when a folder is renamed or moved - so this is the expected behaviour that I would hope FreeFileSync could learn how to emulate wi…

After running a comparison, try right-clicking one of the files and excluding from the context menu. This can provide some insight on the correct syntax as that is likely the issue…

Use Time Machine to back up your OS, it is simply the best option in existence. FFS is not a system backup/restore tool and shouldn't be relied upon for such use

Of course, the permissions are there to prevent other users from accessing your data. You can either run FFS from each account for backups or run FFS using sudo from a terminal.

I have searched the forum, and there are similar issues reported, but I can't find this specific issue. My setup: Synology NAS on my LAN. Directories are mapped in Windows 10. I am…

Tried all that. Thanx

I did what I suggested above and syncronised the warning variant and it has removed the warning exclamation mark, so all good. It took all but 2 minutes Thanks again for the sugges…

Can't find any concrete info on what that directory is used for, so it probably has no need to be backed up. I would exclude it. It's definitely a system file location, and FFS isn…

Perfect answer...just what I needed. And such a quick response. Many thanks. --RK

[Quote] Same here. There seems to be a two week timeout before a device can be removed. Which would be reasonable if the device was identified correctly. Instead of reducing the ti…

I have the same problem. I understand there could be a problem with reporting changes to system from a remote location, but is there any way to fix this or apply some workaround? I…

You don't want to go down the rabbit hole of File Explorer context menus. The way items are added and the order in which they appear is completely FUBAR. I just wanted to group som…

Yes, use the star version since a '*' is a wildcard that matches anything

1) Basically the same as far as I can tell. Possibly an older layout may have provided a more prominent use case for the checkboxes 2) Can't you just run the sync? Then the modific…

Hi Zenju, Sure , I will update the application. Also, would be there any data loss that can happen if we delete the Recycle Bin folder? is it a folder that will be created by FreeF…

[Quote] Then it would appear that is the case. Explain your sync settings & what you are doing.

FFS shouldn't be leaving any temporary recycle bin folders, FFS deletes to the "Recycle Bin" that Windows uses, if set to do so. Don't check the actual recycle bin folders on the d…

Don't install anything to do this, it's very easy to Google how to set up a network share on both macOS and Windows. Share the folders that you want other computers to be able to a…

You could write a .bat script that runs the syncs via command line, one after another. Or use post-sync commands in one config to call another to run

As you can see when comparing the [URL] silent installation is only a feature of the business edition. So, the error notification is correct.
