Re: Help with realtimesync

boris,
First, I apologize, it was not my intention to suggest that you are not intelligent. We all have times when we just can't figure something out, no matter how hard we try, as in my handle.

In your posts I could feel your frustration as I have "Ben There" at times also.
"I have tried this ...

boris,
In reference to Your reply "I really wonder if being in a community group" is unfair and uncalled for and a sure way to find yourself unable to get help in the future.
Plerry gave a clear reference to solve the issue you have. By your own admission, you state that you are incapable of ...

Re: Help with realtimesync

I really wonder if being in a community group supposedly to help people out with problems is the right future for you, given that when someone has difficulty you give a link to something I've read several times but clearly have difficulty in understanding. RTS is complicated for me, hence reaching ...

I read, and went to reread after your post the RTS part of the manual. Nowhere does it mention 'auto close'.

Help with realtimesync

I set realtimesync up. (What a convoluted nightmare that was!) Now it works, but the normal compare and synchronise window that it opens remains open after realtimesync has finished. I can't find any controls to do that and there's nothing I can find in the help file.
Can anyone help?

Re: I've got a conflict...3,000 of them!

The absolute very first item of the FreeFileSync (FFS) Manual is:

which obviously constitutes a (left-right) folder pair ...
Obviously to you, quite obviously, not obvious to me. I searched for 'folder pair' being the most sensible thing to do, and it ...

I've got a conflict...3,000 of them!

OK I have 2 notices that come up all the time about conflicts. 1 is that both files have been updated since last time. I mean, that's not possible when 1 set of files sits on a backup drive doing nothing, and the other set of files is used.
However I am not a techie so, how on earth am I supposed ...

Re: How to backup files with no extension

In the folder there is a subfolder and that 1 file FirstRun that I want.
The way I have done it this time is to include the main folder, then click on every single file in the subfolder except for the one I want and the Firstrun file so that they get copied alone.
I've never even looked at filters ...

How to backup files with no extension

As part of my portable browser installation there is a file called FirstRun that has no extension. If I include the parent folder it gets copied across with everything else. But I only need that 1 small file, but FFS can't see it if I try to add it as a file.
Is this possible to do and I am just ...

To use Windows shadowcopy FFS must be run in admin mode. I have the program stored on a portable drive and always run it simply by clicking the .exe file of the program. Is there any way to make it automatically run in admin mode, or make a shortcut to the .exe file that does the same thing?
