Re: Slow Transfer Speed

Try an older version of FFS, maybe there is a problem. I would bet the mechanical hard drive is getting pinged by other tasks though, but just a guess.

Re: Feature Request for batch-use ...

Gotcha! If you are explicitly running as non-interactive, you are kind of creating the situation for yourself. You can have the task run "pathToFFS" "pathToJob" which will run it with a tray icon.

I unfortunately don't know any specifics on that, but most likely it wasn't a feature that they thought was important enough to try messing with it while updating the program.

Re: Are filters case-sensitive?

I fail to see where having two directories differing by case only is a possibility? If that is a possibility, you are actually better off starting your filter one level shallower than normal rather than "thisdirectory" vs "thisDirectory"

Re: Error Code 5: Access denied [DirReaderPlus]

No one has provided any useful information on paths to be synced. Windows ACL can most likely be attributed to the issues, and maybe differing methods of syncing causes the discrepancies between versions. Windows is very strict and unpredictable when it comes to system protected directories.

Re: Slow Transfer Speed

FFS utilizes full transfer speeds. With the extremely limited information in your post, I would attribute the "slow" speeds to another factor eg. hard drive speed, file type/sizes, external factors

Nothing native to FFS. But, there may be a chain of things you can do to dynamically change the firewall on certain networks to block FFS from having internet access.

You can. If you are running it minimized, you can restore the window from the icon and stop it from there. It would be cool to have a right-click>stop/pause option though

They're more likely to just quit the site if it hasn't responded after 30 seconds. It's a barrier to entry. If it said "Hey, we don't allow links to be posted for 30 minutes.", they would just wait and come back to spam.

That would not extend the idle time between interactions considerably enough to change anything. That would be stuffing two handshakes in .5 seconds rather than one in .1 seconds, example numbers.

Priority will probably go to the bigger cloud storage options. Considering sync.com isn't even close to the top dogs in popularity, like OneDrive which doesn't have support yet, it most likely won't happen.

Put stars in front of the filters:
"*\Lightroom\Lightroom Previews.lrdata\"
"*\Lightroom\Lightroom.lrdata\"

Without the star, it will filter those as if they residing in the root of the D:\ drive, which they aren't

Re: FolderAccessTimeout

If you have the script run a compare/sync on an empty/hidden pair, set a timeout in the script that waits for the time needed for the NAS to spin up, then have the actual sync start up. That way, even though it will retry for every file it has an issue with, it will be quick since the initial sync i...

As far as I have seen, FFS looks for a db file in the directories, so if you change the source/detinstion, it won't have one, then will create a new one

You can't do that because in order to calculate the calculated elapsed time for r, you have to call the formula again with starting conditions for the transfer, then again, then again. Recursive algorithms don't work without an exit condition, and so this would be a memory leak at best and outright ...
