I have just started using this amazing app, thank you to all the devs. But it seems to me that my transfer flat-lines when I leave my desk and the monitor shuts off. Why is that? […

On your donation page, you can increase the device count to 5 and it will tell you how long the donation period will be active. One year for 3 devices is 20 Euros so one year for f…

I ran a test with 1,000,000 empty txt files and noticed a significant decrease after about 330,000 files. It went from 1,200 items/s to <500. For me, the active time for the drive …

cmd doesn't really have a good way to go to sleep and allow it to be interrupted. Nvm, this is easy Run a CHOICE cmd that defaults to yes after 20 seconds, and set it so choosing n…

Go to the settings for the sync you are running, there is an "automatic retries" option.

It won't hurt anything, maybe a speed decrease

I am surprised your NAS even allows you to write the its RecycleBin. But given the fact that the NAS allows you to do so, I advice against doing this, as the content of you NAS Rec…

It will be very convenient if an up to date package of FreeFileSync for Chocolatey is available for install: [URL] I hope that the developer will find time to release it.

It is possible to use a collaboration of FreeFileSync and rclone to sync with Yandex.Disk: [URL] rclone is capable to mount Yandex.Disk as a virtual drive in OS.

Aren't they just using VHDs? Which are just regular files, so FFS would work fine. You may need to run as admin and enable copying locked files using VSS.

That's a good idea! automatic update syncs and then periodic manual mirror syncs, keeps the size in check still.

Right, done.

Okay... You can highlight a selection and sync it on its own. [URL]

Hi, is there a reason RealTimeSync doesn't have the filters feature? It triggers on all kinds of ephemeral files, like *.crdownload (Chrome download temporary placeholder file). Wo…

Nextcloud sync option would be great!

I just transferred my 2 terabyte Network NAS to a portable 2 terra byte SSD. It took 16 hours. NOT A Glitch, or a problem of any kind. THANK YOU FreeFileSync..... William

I just donated and on my Linux (Debian Bullseye) version 11.16 the interface is terrible. White text on very light grey background. I've looked in the .css .rc .xml files and there…

^^^ Correct You left the box checked when saving it as a ffs_batch config.

I think i understand... Can you attach and post the log file after running into this issue? Also, if you run a compare, then make changes, then synchronize, FFS won't recognize tho…

I agree with Zenju with that new info, almost like something that 'buffers' the data for some intermediary processing.

[Quote] Thanks very much !

There should only be one sync.ffs_db file per sync config, how many do you have?

it works thank you!!

The best advice anyway: Run your FFS (backup) syncs under dedicated user credentials, only this dedicated sync user having write access to the backup location; all other users only…

Fixed, thanks!

Ok, I'm a rookie here. I cannot hide this. :) Ty again.

Should be gone after you've checked for updates manually, then restarted FFS: menu -> help: check for updates

Thanks for the report! Issue has been fixed: [URL]

> Scanning file by file remotely are so expensive. Not sure what you mean. Expensive in what sense? Taking a lot of time? High provider cost? For every sync, there is always just o…

Hi, is there any possibility of an iPad or android app in the pipeline? Foldersync looks like the closest option on Android, and now with usb4 iPads it would need awesome to backup…

NTFS should work reliable in all cases unlike FAT (FAT32, exFAT), which allows for move detection "sometimes".

Thank you for the suggestion. There are a lot of directories and that might be cumbersome to set up, but I'll try it next time if need be. I got too frustrated in the few days befo…

Thanks for the pointer I hadn't considered the manual real folder solution which I think will have to do. I had hoped for a virtual solution to keeping things in the same place but…

Thank!

[Quote] What error messages do you see? Creating folders with leading/trailing spaces are allowed as far as FFS is concerned.

Any plans that the prices will be dependent of the number of clients? I really love the suggestion!

if I changed file A , and then restore it, "File content" is the same, but updated the "modified time". I want the old file can cover this. so after compare by "file time and size"…

My OneDrive has 11,000 files and a 200KB db file, so Zenju is right about it not being the appropriate size. My only curiosity is if the db file works across different computers. R…

That error couldn't be any clearer. the modified time on those files is out of the range that FAT can store

That risk is mitigated by air-gapping the backup

Good tip -- I didn't know about this. But I think you have to be careful, as selecting folders on the right side for deletion could end up deleting more than the files you've selec…

+1 to amazing!

You would have to create something, probably using Task Scheduler. FFS doesn't support this natively

"Command+W" is a system shortcut on macOS. Also, the confirmation dialog seems to be somewhat cumbersome. Maybe we can do better: new handling in FFS 11.16: • New keyboard shortcut…

+1 as well. My speed fluctuates wildly depending on whether it's in the middle of copying a single large file, or tons of small ones. Would be nice to know on average how much inte…
