Hi there, I work in a shipping company and my vessels don't have access to internet at all. Our currently planned maintenance system (PMS) used a simple application tool that sends…

Hi I have changed the global settings and set the Log File output type to "Text" instead of "HTML". I did this both via editing the settings file directly and via the GUI. This is …

Forgive me if this has been asked before, or I'm misunderstanding the "time span" option, but... I get the impression that if you're sync'ing 2 folders, even when using indicating …

[Quote] Never noticed that! Sweet! Would still love to see it a little more obvious but it definitely helps (and gave me enough confidence to pull the trigger on attempting the oth…

- fast "moving" by clicking is a god idea - To collapse as in the left overview would just be intuitive For different 'operations', after collapse could be used a unique symbol, no…

Hello, Thanks again for your answer. Indeed I checkmarked the detection of moved file. I disabled it and now all works perfectly without error. The time long of Sync is not a probl…

If I add a folder pair to a configuration anddo not save the configuration - I am asked if I want to save upon exit. However, if I initiate a sync, and from the "When Finished:" dr…

I was looking around for the exact same thing. Is there a public repository somewhere?

This would be an awesome feature!!

Thank you for the detailed explanation, John! I really appreciate your input, as, without your help, I would never have heard about Veracrypt, or thought about the potential risks …

I think things are back smooth on exFAT on USB key. So no need to experiment further. NTFS on usb sticks is known for lot frequent read/write USN journal etc. while not in FAT32. B…

Mostly fixed for the next version: [Attachment] I've added comparison and sync variant icons that are still visible during sync but kept the grey variant text for aesthetics.

This version refuses to sync desktop folders begining with a space. All my folder on macOS begin with a space and this was never a problem before. This is a step back. I've reverte…

The download asset for Linux is a tarball, i.e., a compressed tar file. To extract the files, right-click the .tar.gz file in your file manager and select "Extract here" or "Extrac…

In the new version, the paths in the comparison view under Windows have been changed from backslashes to dashes. I can't understand why this has been changed, it's against any kind…

This problem still exists in Ubuntu (Xubuntu) 18.04. Here's the result of ls -l in an affected folder: root@OptiPlex780:/media/kent/3F226CEF1B70943F/Backup_2/Everyone# ls -l ls: ca…

Hello: I've thought this through, and I think it's a valid and workable request: Assuming Realtime Sync gets passed a useful filepath from inotify (or whatever the underlying files…

Just a suggestion... do you think it might be possible to remove the archive-bit on synchronized files? This would allow the user to verify that files are getting sync'd. Kudos, fo…

Good idea, so you can keep track of FFS runs without occupying any disk space. But advantage of the "don't create log" option over "create 0 byte log" is that RTS is not triggered …

Obviously, to the extent one has full control/access to lower level features there are possibilities. However, often syncs are made to network or even cloud resources. Normally the…

That happens all the time. It's got something to do with that variable name not being a public variable in the libssh2 headers. Here's my patch for it: [Code]

Look into setting the [URL] flag to True.

You may use the Task Scheduler to run tasks. With the proper settings, tasks can be run under specified user credentials without that user being logged in. You can then run FFS syn…

I support the request to sync (copy) timestamps as I use it often in Beyond Compare. We should be aware that a full comparison is not cheaper than a copy. But there are situations …

How are we to understand this? Will the data be able to be copied remotely? Without having to have a program running on my PC?

Thanks @Plerry, got a knot in my thougths an supposed FreeFileSync uses a predefined directory for configurations... You got me on track again. Klaus

I have two fast HDD with 12 TB & 8 TB. I observed that the content compare starts with a good performance of 160 MB/s and after a few seconds is falls most times down to 90-100 MB/…

It looks like it uses FFS servers to send the emails, rather than sending via the program or a user-choosable email (though the latter would require integrating a lot of email func…

It's case-by-case. If someone one were restore on older copy, they would probably want to have the date of backup rather than details linked with the file itself. Also, backups are…

If it is that common, create a separate configuration. Is having another config in the side panel any worse than having to sort through the folder pairs in one config?

When using FFS in command line mode and supplying a batch file as input, logs are produced in html format even if global settings say text format. This does also not change if expl…

Not directly in the application. You will need to send to one email address and set up an email forwarder from there.

Hi @zenju, Are there any plans to adopt the license behavior of the Linux edition of FreeFileSync to match the behavior of the Windows portable edition? I am aware that the Linux v…

This is already supported. In fact I use Winmerge to do specific compares myself. See Tools => Options, and Customize Context Menu.

Hi, I am using free version of FFS. I want to support the project and donate to get the donation version of FFS. How to get it on the flatpak version??

Hi there, I am an enthusiast on FreeFileSync. I use it about 2~3 years (and sometime donates). Well, today I updated my macOS version to 10.25 and noticed that app perfomance on ma…

I would appreciate a reaction to my post of 16 May. Zenju?

Support for Shared Drives has been added in FreeFileSync 10.25! :)

I'm trying to do precisely that. By date. The entire contents of the server are mirrored at a second location. The only files I need to move are the new ones. Filtering by time mak…

You can copy/paste as an easier way to do that. But, it would be cool to right-click and 'send to' another config

For the Update sync variant this indeed seems to be a possibility. It would however make the scan sync variant specific; for all three other variants a full scan of both sides is r…

Thanks Plerry, that explains all the scenarios very well.
