Thank you!! You're absolutely right & now everything works. The latest screenshot shows "3 dialogs hidden". One of them is likely the results dialog. Zenju, 07 Aug 2024, 10:59

Thank you Zenju for Post 7138!! You're right. Of the 3 dialogs hidden, I had to change the 2nd from the top to this:

Re: Results Dialog box doesn't stay up after it's shown
No, it's not saved as a batch file (those are attended, right?). I have 2 batch files that run minimized & autoclose, but several that aren't batch files. However, the result dialog box closes & doesn't make a sound, even though one is set for comparison.

Results Dialog box doesn't stay up after it's shown
I have FreeFileSync 3.7 [Donation Edition].
Instead of the results dialog being shown & staying up, it now pops up & then disappears. Is there a way to keep it up until I dismiss it, because that's the way it used to work?
Thank you.

Re: Ping Sound After Files Syncronized Disappeared
Sounds work if I click on the play button (>) to test any sound. It also works if I put a sound in for comparison, although I want to leave it blank. However, when I put any sound in for synchronization, there's just silence.

Ping Sound After Files Syncronized Disappeared
This may seem like a small/stupid problem, but FFS used to make a reassuring ping sound after I synchronized files. (Win10, V22H2) All of a sudden that sound disappeared. Do you know how I can get it back? I didn't make any changes (that I know of) to my Windows sounds.

Re: FFS dialog box pops up with a sound every time I open a file
Sorry. I just solved it. I resaved the Info job as a batch file (clicking the icon in the top right of FFS) & checkmarked "run minimized" & "autoclose". Now it's behaving.

FFS dialog box pops up with a sound every time I open a file
I have FFS 13.1 64-bit donation edition. I have 2 real time sync jobs: bridge & info, which, I think, have identical options set. The bridge one works perfectly, i.e. if I open a file & make no changes & close it, there's no pop up or sound.

Re: Completed with Warnings?
I knew it was RTS because 1) I had it sent up that way, & 2) the sync icon was black (non RTS are green). So I just clicked on the icon in FFS, clicked on the filter icon at the top of the screen, & clicked on the synchronization tab. I saw that is was set for "Delete and Recycle bin". I changed ...

The configuration you're showing on the screenshot is not the one you have set up to run via RealTimeSync.

Re: Syncing Word files with Includetext fields
Thank you so much for your reply!!! Although Word on both WinXP & Win10 word fine & I can copy in either direction when I don't have different file paths, I like your idea of using %userprofile% on all files where this is an issue. Thank you again. I'm sure this will work, but I'll let you know.

Re: Syncing Word files with Includetext fields
Thank you for your response. The fields are supported in all versions of Word & Windows Explorer doesn't "see" them. I can explain it best by an example. Re: Change the comparison & sync for an existing confiruration
Thank you for your reply. I had actually tried that, by changing the compare from "content" to "file time & size", but was confused because the synchronization took just as long. I had forgotten that the synchronization time is independent from compare time.

Does it remember its position for you? And what OS do you have? The main FFS window "remembers" its size *and* position, so I agree that the progress dialog should also remember both its size and position. wohlfelder, 18 May 2023, 07:54

Re: Is there a way for the completion pop-up to show up lower on the screen?
I still have Windows 10 Pro, but it's had several updates. Currently the version is 22H2, (build 19045).
I have various software tools, but other windows can be opened, moved to another spot, closed, & will reopen where I last placed them.

I know this is an old post, but I'm still having this issue on Windows 10 with every update of FreeFileSync (donation edition). Even when I drag the result window down, it moves up to the same position.
