FreeFileSync Forum

Good day everyone, Please can you inform me as to which ftp server is best compatible with freefilesync for remote/offsite sftp tranfers.

Is task scheduling really so difficult that it needs further integration? [URL]

Any replies for this?

Hi, I'm using FreeFileSync 9.9 Build: 09/03/2018 on Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. When I create a mirror backup FFS creates ffs_tmp folders. For example RecycleBin.6a51.ffs_tmp. I am unab…

[Quote] This problem has been resolved with FFS 10.0. FFS will now use exactly as many connections as configured, both during comparison (earlier versions used one connection per f…

[Quote] That's great, but I wouldn't give too much on AV flags. Currently at least one version of MS AV is flagging all versions of FreeFileSync with some alleged installer malware…

Yes, I know. I'd be all for it. But those "ancients" I'm dealing with are not. I know, that this suggestion is just treating the symptom and not the root cause, but the root causes…

What would you do if you could invert the selection? Is there some scenario that is currently too difficult? As a workaround you can CTRL+A and then CTRL+L-Mouse on the items you d…

Yes.

An input helper for the exclude filter seems needed, e.g. a checkbox-tree. This would greatly simplify the problem of having to enter filter settings manually in cases where an ini…

Upgraded from 9.4 to 10. Very nice.

Fixed! I've added options to install for the current user or for all users. Only latter requires admin rights. [URL]

@Plerry, thanks for the very clear explanation. Any idea why my exclusion filters did not work? [Quote] I'll leave the task as is, where it mirrors the source files to files in the…

So, was this feature removed in version 10.0? Why?

This fits in the discussions on more refined Version control. See e.g. [URL].

[Quote] No, but the "Sofort" option should work as an alternative.

Hello (this text is translated from French) For my backup strategy, I use Resilio Sync in duet with FFS. It is very effective, I propose it here for those who meet the concern of t…

[Quote] Curious. I have scanned up to four volumes (four separate SSDs in this case) at a time using four separate instances of FFS running simultaneously.

Okay, thank you :)

Relatedly, would you be interested in sharing the source tree in a version control system? I appreciate the source code from your tarballs, but with the source tree, the guys who p…

First thought: make a comparison with a hex editor.

This may be a very old discussion, but I am (still?) experiencing the same thing with Windows 10 build 1709. It seems to be a Windows problem, not a FreeFileSync problem, judging f…

Did you know that you can save your configuration to a file with a name of your choice once created? You don't have to do the steps you describe every time.
