I am syncing files from a running VM (source A) to a Google Drive (Source B) When I launch the very same VM from another computer, syncing from the very same Google Drive, it wants…

I believe the drive must be accessible in order to determine the drive letter from a given volume GUID.

[Attachment]Is there a resolution for this problem? I'm using Ubuntu 24.04. I like the interface of FFS quite a bit, but on a 4K screen with 150% fractional scaling, the icons are …

Ok..thx.

Hello, I use FreeFileSync to backup files from my Windows 10 to a NTFS external drive connected to a QNAP. I use sFTP protocol to copy files and I get an error everytime I try to t…

[Quote] Correct, but threads are very rarely going to result in a speed improvement. They only help artificially throttled transfers

I have not actually used these, except for Mega for 1 quick test. I cannot speak to the performance. You will need to try and see if it works well enough for you. Clouds supported …

I periodically, haphazardly, compare files for "exactness". There have been times that files did not compare - which I find very odd. And I make notes (haphazardly ;-)) of such occ…

Thanks.

[Quote] Ah yes, input from another person who wasn't happy when I requested accurate and useful information in an effort to assist them. Thanks for the advice pal Since you only wa…

Hello, I would agree with rgreat. There are many reasons for using freefilesync I'm sure and you know better than me the most frequent usage. However, to sync my desktop and laptop…

Thanks. I didn't know something like this already existed. I searched the manual. [URL] And found about "Customize context menu" at "Menu → Tools → Options → Customize context menu…

Yes, that is the size issue. When you use text transfer, the windows version gets \r\n and the linux server just \n. [URL] I'm just FTPing into inmotion. I do this by creating an F…

Ah yes, the best business strategy: Drive small-time and open-source developers, along with their users, to your competition SMH, do I smell OneDrive integration on the horizon? ;)

It should be super strange if they won't have an API for getting hashsums, that's basic stuff, and they show it in GUI, and the official GDrive client absolutely use it... Anyway, …

[Quote] I'm glad to hear that! :D You wouldn't believe it, but there have been voices in the past that called the FFS GUI "antiquated".

[Quote] No, that's your superstition ;)

Nothing in the logs. Finally, I just renamed the sync.ffs_db to sync.ffs_db.old and now I when thru the sync normally.

Haha, please disregard my final comment above and disregard this request. It was late at night here when I wrote it and I woke this morning and realized the absurdity of my request…

That's just normal behavior. You can select any folder for versioning, doesn't matter if local, (S)FTP, MTP, or Google Drive: [URL]

[Quote] Could you post a screenshot? Otherwise it's impossible to know what exactly looks confusing with the current GUI. [Quote] FFS-specific macros, either global or per-configur…

My FreeFileSync.exe got neutered. Just noting... Somehow, my My FreeFileSync.exe got neutered, ended up changed. +A Attribute set (where it had not been before), & size set to 0 by…

Your picture suggests: • You have run the sync previously, at the end of which both sides were in sync. • You have since then removed the right-side folders Business\HDR'd and Hong…

I had the same thing, all white backgrounds. I fixed most of them by switching my GTK theme from BlackMATE to Breeze-Dark . A couple other dark themes looked good, too, but I prefe…

I'm sorry you feel that way. At no point in my posts was I rude. I wrote a neutral statement saying "Sorry, I'm not looking for workarounds-" and when you insisted nonetheless, I r…

Woohoo, glad it's working

This is intended behavior. Clicking the sync button only runs a comparison once. Once a comparison is run, the results are used for the sync until another comparison is run, no mat…

@Leo2 + @tubemirror you can see I was not banned! I installed RClone. It requires also WinFsp to be installed and honestly, I do not really understand what WinFsp is doing, but Win…

I would also be interested in such a feature. Instead of a button to run them individually, I would suggest checkboxes next to each pair, that could be checked/unchecked whether th…

I'm still waiting for MSI to release a BIOS with 0x12B for my PRO Z790-A MAX WIFI. They released 0x129 within days of release, but radio silence for 0x12B. Luckily, MSI have some o…

I was going to say, I'm pretty sure Linux has NTFS support! Glad it's working

Sure, why not?

As of today, the path to the key-file in the SFTP configuration is always an absolute path. This can be problematic when sharing the ffs-gui file accross multiple OS (eg. linux ←→ …

Simply try Android USB RNDIS and you'll benefit from both USB3.0 and SFTP.

Indeed :) In my case it's a backup SSD plugged in via USB - I'm sure that will be many people's cases, or a live SSD in a spare slot in the computer itself which Everything picks u…

Great product : I discovered recently FFS and i have to say it's a gemm, it save lot of time to synchronize files. Just a little thing : When user creates a new "synchro process", …

Why not have all of your eggs in all of your baskets instead? Just have the data consolidated onto one location and have it fully mirrored to the other(s)?

Your accusations of bugs and illogical are complete rubbish as I thought. The temp21 thing is a minor typo since anyone setting this up will be putting their own folder paths into …

I need to check, but I am pretty sure the SSD is Mac OS Extended (GUID), and the external HDD is NTFS or FAT32. I assume my best bet is to re-format that disk into Mac OS Extended …

With "batch jobs lost" I suppose you are mean FreeFileSync (FFS) sync configurations you saved from the FFS GUI as batch files. If you do so, those sync configurations files are sa…
