Not from personal experience, but I assume Windows Server 2022 machines support directory monitoring (from a remote location). On your local machine you can then define an RTS conf…

There is already the option of keeping as many versions as you select for as long as you select. For a detailed description see [URL]. As obsolete versions (as per your settings) w…

Plerry, you are wrong. The manual page you refer to needs a .cmd file to set the custom environment variable before running the .ffs_batch file. I would like this feature built-in …

It sounds a bit strange, but the Manual page on Macros suggests FFS does only(?) support the listed (Windows) Environment Variables. Did you simply try using %HOSTNAME%? If that fa…

The exiting macro %ComputerName% is limited to 15 characters, when I use this macro try to make a single .ffs_gui that can be used to backup user profile on multiple computer, ther…

Thank you

A checkbox to enable or disable the folder pairs should be safer. If you remove pair of folders and "Save by mistake" you'll lose all the original configuration...

I would love to see a mode where file size is ignored during comparison: [Image] Inter alia, this would solve the problem that currently FreeFileSync is not usable for [URL]. Thank…

thank you again. I discover this option recently and it seems good. However I had to delete few passwords in the GlobalSettings.xml file, recorded I suppose before I use the option…

Hi, I would like to request a feature addition of being able to specify a local SMTP server instead of the SMTP server packaged with FreeFileSync. Also, a little customization to t…

[Quote] Woohoo! I wasn't able to find any info about real-world costs for these assessments. Would you share? I completely understand if you would rather not though.

THank you @xCSxXenon, did not know these features and the colors are much better than the notes in "Personal Backup".

Thank you, Plerry. 1. As I mentioned, the problem continues to occur after a few runs. I have not removed any database files. 2. I don't think that any programs are modifying these…

Aaah yes, that's the problem. I changed the Properties\Security permissions to the App folder and it works. Thank you so much for your help. Much appreciated

I can see now [having just updated to version 13.2 from 12.4] that this has been done So thank you

[Quote] @masterto - your answer to the questions here could be useful to the developer of FFS. [URL]

The topic "Disk full" has been discussed already several times in this forum. E.g. [URL]

I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to update this thread. I was having the same issue and resolved it quickly and easily thanks to your extra bit of effort to post …

I attempted to compare files to sync and the program came back with cannot find attributes of several files. I finally realized that the drive I attempted to us had the wrong drive…

There are multiple files to sync, and it is still magnitudes slower than FTPS client. Huge performance difference. It took a little over an hour and a half for Filezilla to upload …

FFS has a CLI which means you can write your own scripts and include FFS in them, meaning you can do just about whatever you want

Looks like FFS supports multiple accounts! Give it a shot. Google Drive does not support monitoring, but you can use RealTimeSync to monitor a location that supports it and still a…

Not an automatic one: [URL] [URL] But it seems you already discovered the manual way to do it.

Good conversation! Lots of valuable info I will take with me as I venture into my own endeavors!

Anything accessible from File Explorer can be used with FFS

Currently, when a sync is running and using a location you want to use in another sync, there is a message saying: "Directory in use.... PATH\sync.lock - Username: NAME" My request…

I have discussed this with the devs of Drivepool and have the following response: [Quote] I did check object-id and it does persist for moves and renames. What are your thoughts on…

Thank you!

Unfortunately, that many sub folders to define which goes to which external drive would be a nightmare to manage. And the files are mostly mkv, so I wouldn't be able to to split th…

You will need to create two separate RTS configurations to achieve this, but it will work fine. RTS will wait for all monitored directories to be available and start monitoring whe…

This sounds like a networking issue and not a FFS issue. I suspect that the two machines cannot see each other at all. This can occur if your new mesh extender isn't working in mes…

So after testing a bit more, looks like you can select and run a few configs at a time, much like Syncback. This will work for me and I will most likely NOT use the batch feature a…

[Quote] Arguable ;-). (In general, I would not think that to be relevant to a general purpose sync tool.) In any case, in that respect, why not have the ability to include any Prop…

If you are using Windows 10/11 with Onedrive from Microsoft, you have a folder mounted to your Onedrive. This is how to access Onedrive with FFS. You should be able to navigate to …

Hello, So far, FreeFileSync (Donation version) has carried out all the tasks it was supposed to do excellently, i.e. without errors. But... Sending an email at the end of a backup …

It would be nice to have the option to choose different color schemes. It would be nice to have the option to customize the look and feel of FreeFileSync.

Thanks for the responses. Have installed it now! Seems like the unzip-process may have caused the problem. The failing setup (.exe) was around 15k and gave an error message when I …

But there is 2 measures, number of files and size of files. Taking the average should fit.

Thanks for the detailed answer and the solution for file type filters - I will go with a single folder pair given the advantages you mentioned. That said, I can see several argumen…

FFS knows nothing about s3 storage. You likely need to mount the s3 storage using an open source cloud mounting program.

Sorry, I can't agree: It should indeed be synchronised, but only on the basis of the file name and date. I would just like to leave out the size ...
