FreeFileSync Forum

Thanks for the idea, did just that and found that the "Date Modified" is different on many of the files even though they had just been copied. So FreeSync (great pgm) is off the ho…

[Quote] Perfect! So it seems we have a little Windows bug here: WNetGetConnection() incorrectly returns ERROR_CONNECTION_UNAVAIL (=> outdated buffer), while WNetAddConnection2() re…

A new Linux installer (and also an auto-updater for the Donation Edition) will be available with FreeFileSync 11.6.

Hi @therube thx for the input. The linked page is way over my head. I'm wondering if the problem one of two things: 1. My Mac. When you format a disk during a fresh install of macO…

So definitely not between two drives... Check the smart data of the drives. I would also try a test sync between a different standalone source drive and that same destination drive…

Enable permanent deletion, your NAS doesn't support recycle bin

Thank you,,,,,,,,,, just like to be sure,,,,,,,,thanks again

Pretty funny ... I downloaded and installed that product only a few weeks ago, so 1&1 doesn't seem to update their software regulary. The reason why I didn't see the connection bet…

That's an option. I don't have any other suggestions unfortunately, there must be something interfering with the process or it isn't set up correctly

After the restart I can start your program again! I think there was still a process running. Perhaps because of the message from the first start that I have to set the Preferences …

The status should be overwritten after the next sync (not just comparison)

FFS remembers last user-selected paths since version 11.2.

Here's some info: [URL] Basically, create a sync config in FFS, save as batch job, drag the batch job onto the RTS setup window and it will auto fill everything you need. You just …

Here's the current Linux beta version: [URL]

I wound up re-configuring the NAS and moved back to EXT4, and haven't seen the error since. So it must be something with BTRFS or how NAS is reporting BTRFS file system.

I have continued testing and I know what happens. The problem comes when the scheduled task that I have assigned to run FreeFileSync runs before the user has opened Outlook. What h…

In the RTS setup window, there is a section to specify monitored directories. Remove the remote location

RTS doesn't sync on a set schedule or period.

There was no email bounce for this address, so it was received (possibly in the spam folder).

Hoi therube, I found at least how to memorize deleted files. I will check your additional idea and thank you in advance. How was the choke: If you (means me) dont find your solutio…

Can confirm, that it works now. Also following (compare & sync) of a directory tree works well. Will make more tests tonight, but looks good so far :-) Update Jan 22nd: Found no fu…

may be a google drive limitation

I would appreciate this option between "depth" and "breadth" synching. I still haven't upgraded from version 9.9 and recommending not to do so to my colleagues because we all use "…

Thanks a lot, it was as you suggested. Now it works! Great!

The 'new' button just blanks out the locations and sets the default settings, like a template

Which Unicode character was it?

I think I understand. Any 'update' method is going to ignore move/renamed files unfortunately, pretty much every backup/sync utility performs the same.

There are many threads on what you want to do, and is usually as easy as running a post-run command

That process makes no sense... Why would you unzip it into the folder if you have admin privileges? Just run the installer and have it get installed where it's supposed to. Also as…

Hi again, I'm using the FreeFileSync for syncing my SFTP destination. I need the same encryption method asked here. What I want is I'd like to provide public and private keys to FF…

0x1129 == ERROR_REPARSE_TAG_INVALID => STATUS_IO_REPARSE_TAG_INVALID? Are you able to compare this folder with the following version? [URL]

Can you verify that that file exists in both locations through file explorer?

I spoke to iDrive and they said this software will not work with their servers.

Check system resources on both machines during transfer. SMART health sounds okay if you can get 95MB/s on a file explorer copy. Look for antivirus resource usage. You can try FFS …

FFS should be creating a LOCK file that prevents more than one sync at the same time. As plerry asked, what are the problems with the database files? The FFS db files, or database …

Yes, just select "permanent" deletion in sync settings (F8).

I started a simple test scenario from scratch with 2 folder names with same case, then renamed either side, but after many attempts I couldn't reproduce the error. I certainly didn…

It's a work computer and has Sophos onboard.

You can't download old portable versions

What does ip a return when entered in terminal? Do you have multiple network cards or WLAN devices which keep changing?

Thanks I can see it now.

I don't think this is an issue with FFS. I think that I have an issue with my NAS which I need to further investigate. Daryl

Thank you, all good, fixed problem.

Thank you for both replies. Sorry i did not say anything earlier because each was irrelevant to what i described. I actually found what the problem was, a while ago. Sorry for post…

@therube Actually copying to a WD drive (not SSD). Volume is not raw but formatted for HFS+ since it is a spinning disk. The copy is not an image but rather individual files. Inter…

I accidentally posted this on the wrong thread. Reposting here. Okay, so I figured out how to resolve this issue. After a little searching, I figured out how to view, and remove an…

i donated 10.5 in windows (with paypal in 2018) and i need a version for linux, but paypal is unavailable.

Thanks, I did so. First I sync network fileshares with empty folder and then copy\replace files to original folder.

Run a scheduled task that deleted what you want from that location, but as Plerry said, not in FFS but in Windows itself.
