Brilliant!! Thank you!

Hi, I build the software and find the Resources.zip is missing so the program cannot run properly. If I use the Resources.zip from an earlier version, e.g., 10.11, the program runs…

Thank you Plerry, that works :-)

Hi Robin What compiler are you using in Windows? Could you share your contact by private message? We could help each other. Thanks.

Sorted - I think: enabled Advanced Permissions on source and target and allowed NAS admin user to read/write. No errors thus far!

I have two suggestions: 1. While FFS is running, the display shows n.nn MB/sec and n.nn items/sec. With the latter, if you are syncing large files, you can get very small numbers, …

Hello, can anyone with competence help me?

[Quote]FFS removes (or at least: should have removed) all lock files it created, upon completion of the FFS sync job. This is also the reason why it should not be a problem FFS cre…

It should! For your Compare settings (F6) make sure to select the "File time and size" variant.

Seriously asking you that what should I do? Take another sync client to use?? of......giving up to use FreeFileSync???

Example: I have two flash drives one has the label FLASH NEW the other the label FLASH OLD. I would like to control backups to these flash drives using a single configuration file,…

The status is linked to the log file, and with a comparison only there is no new log. In some way, the convenience of updating the "Last sync" time after a comparison doesn't reall…

[Quote] The current behavior can certainly be improved, but for the record: Placing the following in the "Run a command" field in sync settings will do: [Code]

Having the same problem on MacOS with 10.11 with SMB, and it's particularly bad on Apple FS shares.

I would like to be able to not only exclude files from the sync, but also to be able to specify file patterns that will be deleted from the target directory. This could be me, e.g.…

When backing up my web server via FTP, files may change in the meantime, such as log files. Can you perhaps introduce an option that allows me to indicate before the backup that su…

+1; nice suggestion

[Quote]FreeFileSync (FFS) is, as the name implies, primarily a synchronization program. What you describe is not a Sync but, like you state yourself, a Move. FFS can do the first p…

Thanks for replying Zenju, but I don't see a relevance to my problem. I don't have copy errors when syncing. The Synology disc station has a different file system and approximates …

In the [URL] you can set the VerifyCopiedFiles flag to "true". However, this means that uploaded data needs to be downloaded again to be compared to the local version, so it will c…

Generally, moved files will not be deleted. And instead of files getting deleted you can specify any one folder to move them to: Synchronization - Versioning - Specify destination …

First I be sure to have the 'Detect moved files' box checked at 'Synchronization Settings' once and for each session. Be sure that it's not accidently unchecked. Then I only have t…

It is understood. I'm usually deleting files. The second disc is for backup. I think freefilesync does not work for me. I will have to copy manually on a regular basis. Many thanks…

I have now downloaded and watched a few of the video tutorials now but have a few questions. I have bought a WD 10TB (single drive) external drive to backup my 2 internal drives in…

This folder exclusion isn't working as expected. (That is, the folder is syncing anyway). [Code] This is on macOS 10.13.6 and FFS 10.11. Is there something I'm doing wrong in the d…

DIR gives you the present status of the folder. The sync.ffs_db file contains info on the status per the end of the last sync. So, the two only contain the "same" information if no…

FreeFileSync has the capability of syncing files that have been created during a specific time interval. I would like to suggest expanding this to sync files created since a specif…

Possibly making it more visible in the application itself is not for me to choose. But how risky is it to use a plain text editor and change a "false" in "true" in the GlobalSettin…

Hm, I'm not able to reproduce this (Linux Mint LMDE3). Running a sync (not only a comparison) seems to correctly update the status symbol in the config panel on the left.

I have used FFS for a while, very successfully. Attempting today to update my backup FFS tells me there are no files on my backup devices (2 separate portable hard drives) that I h…

This has been requested since the origin of times. See [URL] or [URL]. Apparently, the developer doesn't know how to handle properties of files and folders, and just use the names …

Show also the english names to the native language Names. Maybe when moving the mouse over the native names.

No this don't retain the folder structure.

I fully agree. The scheduling would bring great improvement to the tool, which alias is the best.

[Quote] Ideally, this would be the OS's job, e.g. the user would just start FFS, and then pin the currently running process to the dash/sidebar. I know this used to work in older U…

Zenju, That's funny to think about "Malwarebytes DDoS'n freefilesync.org" lulz :p

Checked all config windows except "save batch job" :( My bad, sorry.

Okay, just thought I'd post that and see what might come up. SD

[Quote] Indeed, "Configure" is probably more clear.

FFS runs just fine via an (IPsec) VPN tunnel. Did not try other tunnels. However, you have to open the tunnel yourself up front (before launching the FFS Compare and Sync).

Thank you for your reply! I tried to use the versionning, but my version folder stays empty. Besides, freefilesync copies a file in the version folder only if it is deleted, no? I …
