[Quote] Thanks for the suggestion! When I first read that, I didn't think it would be the culprit because of how I'm only seeing the issue with one folder. I would think that I'd s…

There may be too frequent changes in all the RTS monitored folders combined. If that happens persistently, the [URL] keeps getting reset and never expires. and consequently RTS nev…

Interesting discovery @edechamps. Thanks for your work on this and for dropping a note in here. I may see if I can fiddle with my smb conf settings on my NAS - though I haven't enc…

They have changed the link, I have updated my post with the correct one.

Samsung phones use the current date and time for taking pictures and videos. If it is reusing names, either the phone has gone back in time and you need to update the date/time or …

Thanks @Plerry.

It seems you are running your ffs_batch file from the Task Scheduler. By default, the Task Scheduler runs tasks as the SYSTEM user. In the Task Scheduler you can modify the ffs_bat…

You can not change the location of the database files. [URL] [URL]

Any changes from a default configuration setup will change it to a custom config typically, but not the toggling of the db files. I wasn't able to replicated that behavior though a…

[Quote] No, I meant instead of the "post sync script". If the move operation happens on the server, and OP wants it to also happen locally, then maybe "Two Way" does the job.

I mirror Google Drive to my machine. Googledocs files are not recognized by FreeFilesync. I am sending the attached screens.

[Quote] Yes! A log item at the end should read either "Sending email notification to %x", or indicate an error.

[Quote] File IDs are not relevant to the OP's problem. Detection and propagation of ordinary CRUD operations only requires sync.ffs_db files. This will start working with the secon…

The only time in RTS you can adjust is the Idle Time. See the [URL].

I beg to disagree with xCSxXenon here: > 1. That is, it is impossible to simultaneously synchronize the same data with different tasks? As it is syncing the same data, there must b…

Problem solved, thanks to your suggestion to use CMD window, etc. There was a one-letter difference in the sub-folder names (which are a bit more complicated than the shortened ver…

The user under which credentials this instance of FreeFileSync (FFS) is running does not seem to have write-access to \\NAS-BACK and/or \\NAS-BACK\{Archive}Pictures. This may e.g. …

Does the portable version have any limitations in terms of functionality compared to the regular version (for example, working from the command line, etc.)?

For people without Google account, it might be helpful if FFS would implement support for public Google Drive links directly. But for me, it's OK. Thanks a lot for the tip. Actuall…

I have a vanilla Linux Mint, didn't dabble in disabling mtime. It just seems Java does this, newly created files do not have modification time (which sounds reasonable, they were j…

They definitely are. I spent a lot of time confirming this, checking file sizes etc.

You would need an absurd amount of RTS sessions to notice any issues, run as many as you want essentially. For me, a single RTS setup is 8-30MB RAM each with basically negligent CP…

I'm just starting with FreeFileSync and some of the videos are a bit over my head, if anyone feels kind enough to give me a simple plan that would be great... I would like to back …

Yes, it occurs only after running FFS. The type of sync is two-way-sync or copy. The number of files depends on the time between the syncs. From 10 files to 300 or more. I found a …

When I rename the msg.exe file, FFS works fine. I think it was only an install problem.

I got it resolved. Yesterday I wiped out Ubuntu and installed OpenSuse Tumbleweed. So I'm now using FFS to copy my files from my backup drives to my (mostly empty) internal drive. …

Update: I managed to connect to the remote SFTP with another tool and enabled the visualization of hidden files. The sync.ffs_db is in fact created on the remote directory after sy…

These are two unrelated "issues". If, during a sync, a file that is to be synced turns out to be locked, syncing that file is skipped. Such event is logged in the FFS log-file. For…

Right-click on a column header above your list of saved configurations, click default, or re-enable the 'Log' column

Thanks!

During/based on the Compare of the initial FFS instance, FFS decides which sync actions should be performed later, during the sync phase. A Compare performed by a second FFS instan…

Sorry, because of my poor English I thought your "first pair" was referring to my first example. I hadn't really thought about using two different couplers for the same directory. …

Because you write that the "recycle bin" folder was created on (in?) the destination folder, this reads like it happened on a (Synology?) NAS. If that is the case, the creation of …

The MAC address is not transferred online, but it is used to generate a unique "hardware id". This is documented in the privacy policy: [URL]

It's possible there was an OS update in the background, but who knows since everything is OTA at this point

" .ffs_tmp" files are a special case: They "belong" to FreeFileSync. If a new run finds them remnant from a previous sync, they will be unconditionally and permanently be deleted a…

Post the command you are running via the scheduled task

xCSxXenon... Did as you suggested, reinstalling the Dropbox client. Now all works as it should.

@HBoyter, you should provide more info about the 2 locations of the sync. (E.g. are they both on disk? are they on network, sharepoint, ftp, etc) If you are convinced the date/size…

Thx again for making me smart in using FFS ;-) that was a great help!

I think I found the problem. On the save as batch job screen, the "When finished:" dropdown has defaulted to: "System: Shut down". I cleared this drop down and resaved the .ffs. fi…
