[Quote] Sorry for late answer. I've checked updated FFS 11.7 installation. All works fine. Thanks! XIM warning is not actual for me. I think, wxWidgets used by some installed softw…

I'm using the free version, the latest version, installed from the Google Play store. No need to "root" the phone. When I say Root I mean the app option to set the Root folder, tha…

Thanks, Zenju. I apologize for not spotting this in earlier posts. There's an easy fix for false-positives in SUMo, once you're certain that the flagged program is in fact up to da…

[Attachment] VirusTotal looking better today, only 3 detected, compared to 11 from yesterday.

Is it possible to run the mac version of FFS from a USB thumb drive? thanks!

Hello I need a sync mode working like "two-ways" mode for all it's behavior, except one, which works in "personalise" mode. In personalise mode, when a file have changed on both si…

And if you do not want to sync all file types that are present in your base folder location or (sub)folders thereof, you can use the Exclude Filter to exclude certain file types, o…

You're probably using "Update" variant. In this case you need to set a sync direction for "conflicts", this will get rid of the warning.

Obviously, if there is no write access to a given folder, FFS is not able to write its sync.ffs_lock file(s). And because of the reason FFS is using sync.ffs_lock files, it is not …

Set up more pairs, but that could be space consuming. I would set filters accordingly, or have projects separated by status: in progress, finished, archived, etc

Thanks!

Windows Defender has been the culprit for FreeFileSync slowdowns and server connection issues in the past. But this should be fixed already by having added FFS to the Windows Defen…

I think a large hurdle is the differences between Mac OS versions, and saying to create a startup task is an OS skill, not FFS

There are existing utilities designed for this. They are typically marketed with ransomware protection as their ideal

Unlikely, Chrome OS is not yet tailored towards workloads for such support

Can confirm it still works that way but display filters can cause things to look weird

FFS doesn't so anything with encryption, so no

it in general just a checking thing... "is the file I just worked on inside the list?" ...mh cannot scroll the list, mybe it's on th bottom. just that kinda thing. And I can't chec…

I see... I can think of two options: 1) You could run a post-sync command that evaluates the exit code. This would only work if FFS would detect the change mid-sync and actually ch…

Fixed! Thanks for the report: [URL]

I believe Zenju says to use credit card to donate in these cases

Open Outlook first? How long does it take to back up your PST? Use a scheduled task to sync?

Hello Plerry, Thanks so much for your hint and clarifications. You opened a new door on my comprehension of synchronizing files. I had read about Detect Moved Files in the Help sec…

[Quote] It is not "folder syncing" but "detection of moved files" that is only supported for certain file system and doesn't happen the first time.

I see how that would be helpful, it wouldn't be intrusive either because the icon status is there, as you said.

it shouldn't apply to */*.* regardless. the entire folder is 950MB currently, generally the files that are changed is at most about 1MB each. (the network is fast enough that a ful…

xCSxXenon - Sounds good. My Win10 laptop will arrive next week and then I'll have a chance to set it up and connect to my Win7 destop.

Thanks for reporting back! Hopefully you get it sorted easily

Additional to the above: you can run a Compare in the FFS GUI and then export the file list as a *.csv file via Tools > Export file list . If you open such *.csv file e.g. in Excel…

Thank you so much!! I never thought to move the mouse...duh. This deserves another donation!

Wonderful help, thank you so much guys.

[Quote] What comparison method? If by Content, date/time are ignored. If by Time and Size, obviously different dates (& sizes) will affect results.

Fantastic, will do. Looking forward to giving FreeFileSync a try. Thanks again.
