Now it works

Thanks for such a detailed and useful reply, appreciated. I hadn't really researched camera recording patterns and their effects on SMR, useful tip, cheers! But I am (now) reasonab…

Click "New" in the top-left and recreate the configuration to test.

This is happening to me as well. Win 11 25H2, RTX4070 drivers up to date. I do tend to leave FFS running while switching the power off of my screen, and later connecting via Jump D…

Flathub does not provide official/supported FFS distributions. Download FFS from [URL]

Then that's not your issue. Updating FFS causes RTS sessions to close as well. RTS configs must be restarted after updating FFS.

Just as a update on this. Got the chance to run a full sync a couple days ago, and now everything is working as it should. The "missing" folders are no longer missing. No idea what…

Thank you. "Volume Shadow Copy" this is my problem with that. So ffs 14.5 is the latest version that support Win7/8/8.1 with 64 bit. Maybe, this should be mentioned in the download…

My experience, syncing with pcloud, is that the FFS sync finishes but the uploads take much longer. I can quit FFS and that has no effect: the files are somehow queued somewhere be…

The time span filter works based off modification times, not since the last sync or anything else. Anything NOT within the selected time span is excluded from any FFS operations. Y…

Thank you DrCeeVee, I will take a look.

That error looks like an issue on the 'domain B' remote side. Does the user you are using have file and SMB permissions set accordingly? The user being admin doesn't necessarily me…

If you don't check it, the results window will stay displayed after the sync finishes

Last selection for left/right folder pickers are remembered separately by FFS. So I can't imagine how source and target selections could be mixed up. What operating system? Can you…

sure, sorry fot this

Will work fine. Double check by running a comparison first to evaluate what it will want to do

I'm only vaguely following what you're doing. Sticking only "> nul" at the call to FFS will supress the json info, but leave STDERR(2) alone, which you seem to be capturing by the …

[Quote] Hello Ancient1966, I'm in a similar situation. FFS deleted some files above the limit that the recycle bin can keep. Have you succeed to recovering them in some way?

Hi, after updating some packages in Arch Linux, FreeFileSync no longer starts $ FreeFileSync FreeFileSync: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libwx_gtk3u_html-3.2.so.0: undefined symbol…

Hi, I want to let you know that I just successfully installer FFS version 14.6 under openSUSE 16.0. Topic can be closed

> is it possible to start a batch file before starting the synchronization? You would need to do the opposite. You create a batch file that e.g. first starts/wakes up the server, a…

No Win10. Maybe it's a weirdo controller issue on one of the usb drives. I vaguely recall a similar problem with a prior build a few years back. Thanks

Same issue. Seems like this one too: [URL]

No, but that doesn't solve the problem ;-) And since many people are not "smart" and predict this kind of issue, I'm flagging it here, in case someone else run into the issue.

Where would it be inconsistent with the FFS manual page on the In/Exclude Filter?

Yes, bug was fixed and release re-uploaded.

Oh damn, that was fast! Thank you 😊

@therube If you like to investigate more, it did that only to sync.ffs_db not to other files, but files created by some other specific programs where also corrupted. What they had …

It worked. It's the free version, I have the Donation one, but it works... thank you very much!!! 😊🍻

As the title of this thread states, I've moved back to a Mac and, considering how reliable FFS has been over on the dark side, I sent a bit more $ and DL'd the Donation Edition for…

Unfortunately, the description doesn't provide much more information. "C:\User\file.ffs_tmp" cannot be renamed to "file.png". ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED: Access denied [MoveFileEx] If I c…

Mirroring some folders to an offsite server using SFTP and intermittently, but more often than not, I get "LIBSSH2_ERROR_TIMEOUT: Operation timed out after 30 seconds. [libssh2_sft…

Thank you, I take a look

[Quote] Thanks for the suggestions. FTPUSE is no go in my case. sshfs (for windows) did the trick of mounting the SFTP site on a drive letter. Then a symlink pointing to the new "d…

> I don't know why you are saying that's not correct. Because it is not correct. And I explained why. Firstly it is not correct because you are/were mixing up two command lines; on…

Thanks, Plerry. (It's business edition so I'll email Zenju.)

Using the latest edition of FFS on Linux Mint 22.2, compares will randomly halt with the following pop-up message: "EINVAL: Invalid argument [read]" when accessing files and folder…

Verify that the "sync.ffs_db" files exist in both locations you have selected in FFS.

I am revisiting this since I was here to post about something else (not here often), and wanted to report that this issue resolved without anything more than me not using this opti…

I found a solution. I needed to run the job in user mode using the following command 1 5 test_backup DISPLAY=:0 sudo -u user_name /usr/bin/freefilesync "/usr/backup.ffs_batch"

Dear all, I love FreeFileSync and it solves most of my copy/backup/synchronization wishes. But yet, I have a problem. I have a lot of photographs with several names and versions. T…

I am getting frequent errors from realtimesync related to it being unable to read certain sub folders. The main one is my VMware workstation windows folder (which is excluded in my…

That's....exactly what I said?

Thank you for the advice, I ain't tried it yet. I will try it and if I face any issue, I will ask. I am sorry If I did something wrong by posting here.

Thanks to all for the replies. A simple chkdsk of my hard drive solved the problem.

RTS setup is the same on Windows and Linux. The only difference is how to get the RTS config to autostart upon login/bootup. This is something you should be able to Google for your…

[Quote] In my case it was a WIn7 box, running for many years, so it's entirely possible that something modified theme settings... well over a decade ago at least, so I really can't…

I've just come across this as well. I happened to be doing my monthly backup to external USB hard drive and forgot it was running. Later, I was doing some iperf tests of my Wi-Fi a…

Fantastic! This version can achieve this effect!
