Were you speaking of ADS (Alternate Data Streams) here, aka, "meta-data"?
If so, then you would be correct that a hash compares a "file" (& not ADS).
I had to check, but according to Google SHA256 does not include/compare ADS-data.

For different reasons, FreeFileSync (FFS) writes files at the start of its sync or during its sync, that are removed when/after the syncs ends.

This can be a sync.ffs_lock file (see LockDirectoriesDuringSync )

Or it can be one or more temp-files.

I don't know which OS you (Antonio.A) are on, but on Windows that Browse window only shows folders, and the two buttons at the bottom are "Select Folder" and "Cancel".
So it seems to be a MAC and/or Linux specific problem.

Change your Include Filter from the default * (=everything) into just the file you want to copy.
The simplest way to achieve this in a correct way is by running (just) a Compare , then select and right-click that specific file and via the context menu Include that file.

Never tried this myself, but ...
The Include/Exclude Filter Manual page suggests you should be able
to use an Include Filter of *: (replacing the default * )
Just run a Compare and see if your (equal) folders are still listed or not.

If you do a search in this forum on "Galaxy MTP" you find numerous posts on the same issue.
Particularly Samsung apparently severely messed up their MTP protocol implementation.
The general recommendation is to use FTP or SFTP instead of MTP.

FFS does not require the file system to be NTFS to efficiently replicate file renames or moves.

FreeFileSync (FFS) does not use hashes.
If you Compare by file content, FFS simply compares the full content of the left- and right-side file; the best guarantee that both files are identical.

Likely, both bookmarks.html files have changed since their last sync.
Then FFS does not know in which direction to copy (left-to-right or right-to-left).

It seems more robust to export the bookmarks of each Firefox version and import those in the other Firefox version. See e.g. here.

But, you only need to create 13 entries, the [n-z] range.
