If that's the case, donation users should be warned or prevented somehow from installing their updates without internet so they don't get "trapped" like this. Or simply be able to …

LOL. Of course there had to be a way to do that already! Thank you both for the response and such a useful product!

- Find the email you were sent, that contains the link. - Check browser history/bookmarks if they were synced to the cloud - Install an old version that you saved and then just aut…

It must be Freefilesync which changes the timestamp. When I copy manually a file from a folder to the mapped drive, it retains the date of last change, which is the criteria upon w…

[Quote] Yes! An important note. The OP should be able to exclude the folder to avoid it being scanned

Well to be fair, they should look correct if you are able to move them.

I have FFS running on both 10 and 11. I use the same external ssd drive to backup/sync both types of PC's and thus far encountered no file system or OS errors or incompatibilities.…

Thanks, Zenju!

Very helpful, thank you!

If you're married to FFS, you can run a post-sync command that erases the source. Choose update/mirror based on what you want

[Quote] Thanks but copy with for /r has no possibility that actual file is save, means no parameters to act date options. Of curse its not a classic sync but shore not a big thin i…

Brilliant thank you for that, i was pulling my hair out , have a great day

ok, thank you. I will try that.

So I was getting this error also Mac connecting to a NAS over SMB... Connecting over AFP made it go away...also compare running way faster...also some weird file name errors went a…

Weird and weirder... WIN11 just updated and now things work better. I both get a log file and files do get copied. Go figure... Running everything as admin and had to elevate drive…

From your earlier post: > B is not deleted from the target drive as I expected It is quite a "peculiar" expectation that "target"-side data that is not, or no longer part of the sy…

Different in that subdirectories are maintained, [URL]. That said, using [URL], it's easy enough to find file/dir of interest. Then simply highlight all & paste elsewhere (like a s…

Really? The error message seems to suggest that FFS has successfully connected with the NAS as an anonymous user.

FREEDOM! it worked! it's gone! thank you so much. I had forgotten that there were two levels to 'hidden' essentially. thank you!!

Run chkdsk on all the drives, including your OS drive

oh.. I hit 'reset layout' and it came back... solved?

[Quote] Did they specify WHAT was tagged on? If so, then software like "File Analyzer" should be able to pick up on it (my guess).

Hi. I want to use the function that the FFS_batch runs every time the external HD is connected. I have found that for me the instructions are not really clear. I could run the acti…

Not surprising. About a year ago, I transitioned to using a USB SSD and will never go back. I daily drive the SanDisk Extreme PRO, it is the fastest there is in this size. SSK also…

Gotcha. The only thing I can think of is Task Scheduler. Unless you have another program on your computer that can run scheduled tasks. Deleting the entry in Task Scheduler probabl…

That was fixed, supposedly, by using the current file format though. The OP posted a picture with a docx, which is the current version. They never answered what Office versions wer…

Could be that the device is simply not that fast at de/encrypting. Or, the program isn't designed for ARM yet, and has to run in the translation layer, losing performance

Port doesn't matter if drive letter is the same. USB hubs are notorious failure points though, especially as they are sometimes splitting 500mA

Found the issue, it was Cryptomator after all. I installed Cryptomator with chocolatey, so it didn't include WinFSP and the vault defaulted to opening with WebDAV. That's what made…

Two options I found that both seem to work: I checked the docs, and then I asked Bard, CHATGPT and that's where I found the second one. Not claiming to understand why they are both…

Thanks again xCSxXenon - that is a great point. I am currently running some more tests - this may be the best solution. Appreciate your help.

SOLVED OK - it seems a problem with the browser security. I've signed into Google Drive from another installation, no problem. Now to copy the info to this machine!

oniotaku, I don't manually put the key file anywhere. When you do the installation it should create a file called Registered.dat in the FFS program directory, C:\Program Files\Free…

I have just upgraded from 12.1 to the latest version 12.4 Now getting frequent BSOD with PFN List corrupt I have reverted to 12,1 and all seems OK now

That's unfortunate, but thanks for your response, Zenju. From it, I gather you're affected financially but I'm sure you're aware that a lot of people use FFS without contributing e…

Hi, I'm not a Mac guy, only i did some quick research. As in Linux, the Mac OS directories are protected from the users. So, /Library & /Users are likely not writable for users. Yo…
