@therube Thank you for the link.  It's definitely interesting to me.  FFS and the information in your link are IMHO important to my backup process roadmap, which includes use on Wi…

Hi therube, In my case I created the file ending with "etc." in Zorin and wanted to save on an external drive formatted ntfs. I don't know if the file had been created in Windows..…

There are no suggestions?

As someone pointed out earlier, the accuracy of the backup is the most important thing so I did a folder compare between the source and the USB backup using FreeCommander (much bet…

after analyzing the folders with the most errors, we found that the owners were groups instead of individuals, so we started changing the owner of those and we got a lot of those e…

That's just perfect, thank!

Apologies, maybe something was indeed going on with my network, it sped up a lot after a while, around the 20m mark it suddenly sped up to about 50 MB/s! False alarm I guess, sorry…

Ahh I missed that! I'm going to fix that at once! Thanks allot for the help :-)

It almost sounds like FFS is 'stuck' trying to move something to the Recycle Bin. If you change deletions to "permanent", does the behavior change?

Many thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way because this filter refers to the file date. As I add old files from different sources to the collection folder, th…

The configurations that display in the list are determined/saved in the GlobalSettings.xml file that FFS keeps in %APPDATA%\FreeFileSync. Once you open a configuration in FFS, it s…

[Quote] The advantage is that you can perform a one-way sync. Syncthing only performs 2-way sync.

Agree XCSxXenon... Sorry I misread it as wanting the subfolders but not the files.

It didn't :( Had to go back to Mirror option

Same situation - posting to follow the thread; thanks!

Nope! FreeFileSync is, as the name suggests, a file synchronization program. For just moving files you need a file manager program, like e.g. Windows File Explorer.

for Windows: Select the files with "blizzard" symbol or (use Control + A to select all) -> right Click -> Set Direction (right or left) By this you can simultaneously change the di…
