Re: Foldersync down to a certain subfolder level

Assuming your left and right base folder is the parent of all YEAR folders, you can add an Exclude Filter rule \*\*\*\*\ This should exclude all subfolders (and any of their content) at least four levels deep in the base location. The first *\ matches (at least) all YEAR folders, the second *\ (at l...

Re: Very slow transmission speed FFS 12.3

Likely you have left "fail-safe file copy" checkmarked (in FFS GUI / Tools / Options), as recommended.
This creates an overhead.
Even more so, when you would have set the VerifyCopiedFiles flag to True.

You can define multiple left-right folder pairs.
In its simplest form your first left-right pair could be
[DesktopPC] => [BackupLocation1]
and your second left-right pair
[DesktopPC] => [BackupLocation2]

Re: Local Filter Exclude Settings do not supersede main settings?

Local Filter settings are additional to (on top of) the global Filter setting; they don't overrule them. There are several ways to overcome your problem. The most obvious one is to convert the global exclude rule "*cache.*" into a local exclude rule "*cache.*" for the left-right ...

Your expectation is not correct. When not using local sync settings (the right of the two gear-icons in between each left-right pair), all versions of files in any of the base-directories are written to the root of the versioning location, or when using date-coded directories for versioning, to the ...

Re: Configuration and last synchronisation lost after SSD fail

The last sync date should (according to other threads) be in the GlobalSettings.xml file. Location: see Expert Settings . However, that dat should not be relevant. Simply run your sync configuration. Even restoring your sync.ffs_db files is less relevant (or can even be a bit risky if the left- and ...

Using the Include and/or Exclude Filter is the way to go for repetitive sync tasks. In the FFS GUI, first check in the Exclude Filter (F7) that you have not excluded any files that you want to be part of the sync. Then run just a Compare (no sync), and then check the results, particularly by making the result category "left and right are equal" visible (by toggling the &q...
