FreeFileSync Forum

FreeFileSync places a directory lock file (sync.ffs_lock) into both source and target directories during comparison and synchronization. This makes sure only a single FreeFileSync …

You're welcome! You deserve it, and much more ;-)

You can use an exclude filter like "*.jpg". See the helpfile "Exclude items" for more details.

Thanks for your files! I expected a database corruption, but in fact found a bug in FFS due to zlib being a little peculiar about empty streams. The conditions to trigger it are ve…

Fixed! I've updated the dir picker to use the newer Windows Vista dialogs. Not only do the new dialogs remember their position, they are also much more user friendly. Here is the n…

With my Windows Client Service turned off I always connect now using CIFS/SMB and every thing works fast and I have no problem with the ffs_tmp files. I am convinced now that webda…

Ah sorry for misunderstanding so extremely, yes, I understand, I will have a look, thank you.

Thanks. Yes, that I had found. Okay, I understand, no display of marked files. Thanks again.

Thank you. I understand, means no copying and keeping files.

Hello, sgcareerman. RealTimeSync is starting automatically with Windows and sync my files perfectly. I didn't create the service for it, I just create a link calling the RealTimeSy…

What warning do you get exactly? And what is your custom sync configuration?

Yes, it was for some configuration using the "update method". Thank you for your reply.

<<<After synchronization everything should be in sync except for the folders you manually excluded. And except the folders / files only existing on the target side. <<<You can then…

FFS only starts scanning if all directories that are passed are existing. Adding a second arbitrary string should do.

> I did see the log but can't really make sense of it though Can you please send me the logfile? If the (1) is in the log, this could be a problem with FFS. Analyzing the log shoul…

There is no problem having one source and multiple targets. But you might want to make sure there is no race-condition on a specific folder, e.g. a folder participating in multiple…

The problem appears with version 4.5, but also with last versione (5.5) and it's random: sometimes appears, sometimes not, but always Synchronization fails.

Thank-you.

Yes, Win 7. Okay, I understand (so far as possible for me, I regrettably have no idea of coding etc.), now all seems to work very well, very fast deletion, fast recycling, includin…

Thanks for the quick response. I'll contact BoxCryptor and see if they can rectify the issue. Thanks again.

You can start multiple instances of RTS using a different command line each.

Thank you for your quick reply. I thought I saw a few small files that didn't get written properly the first time with 5.4, but I could have been mistaken. I'll report back if I se…

Set sync-settings "on completion" to "close progress dialog".

Thank you for your reply. I'm disappointed but not surprised that it would be a unsolvable problem in XP.

> sync db This file doesn't help us here, it's internal to FFS's automatic sync routine. Besides we wouldn't want to entirely rely on "inotify" to calculate the "diff". There is no…
