Hi, I got some more clues on my issue. I looked at the event viewer logs when the error happened. Around the time when my batch file runs, the event viewer->application shows error…

Sure, this is the "standard" synchronization scenario. It doesn't matter where you install the tool. You can even install a 32 bit version on one pc and a 64 bit on the other and s…

You are right I had this old 3.2 x86 still installed in the x86 program file folder thanks Julien

You're right, this works like a charm: :restart "C:\Program Files\FreeFileSync\FreeFileSync.exe" "C:\Program Files\FreeFileSync\SyncIL-UA.ffs_batch" @if not errorlevel 0 ( sleep 2 …

Copying/creating Symbolic Links requires Admin rights.

@rgarbe: Thanks for notifying this! This is actually a bug, that comes up only under specific circumstances, i.e. installation type portable and current directory not equal working…

> FreeFileSync.exe is not a valid Win32 application. That is the 64 bit executable. Working on the installer is currently not my top priority, but I'll see what I can do: [404, Inv…

The sync configuration as seen in the batch config screen slighly differs from its presentation on main GUI (although all settings are logically equivalent). This is probably the s…

Hello, It works! I shall be waiting for version 3.7 . Thank you, B.

... and everything is OK :)

This behavior is fine and as designed. It is due to issues discussed here: [404, Invalid URL: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2963611&group_id=234430&atid=1093083]

>that x instances of rts uses much more memory than only one. There is no significant overhead that I could optimize away internally even if I handled all 6 sync-configs within a s…

Many many thanks Zenju, for implementing this. It works great now. (btw. sorry for not replying earlier, but I've been away for a while) Anyway, just great. Also the way you handle…

Thanks. It's not exactly what I was doing. However, it did give me a hint. Installing the 32-bit version under Windows 7 seems to have fixed them problem :-) regards Stephen

Currently environment variables are supported only for directory input fields: 1. folder pairs on main screen 2. user-defined deletion directory 3. logfile directory Environment va…

I think the behavior for custom sync settings should be like for file filters. This way a user would only have to learn one behavior. That is, when you change the custom settings, …

The concept of location you describe is pretty similar to the concept that's actually implemented: The full path name is nowhere saved so it is truly independent from the name of t…

1.) That's understandable: If you start not in admin mode, you are a standard user from the tool's point of view (It doesn't matter that you are logged into Windows as an admin.) 2…

Ok! Thanks for your reply. I'll be looking forward its implementation if you consider it to be possible and convenient. Thanks!

Right, during logoff there's not systray. Unfortunately I don't have a solution for this.

One of the directories, either source or target, have not been specified, i.e. the field where the name of the directory is supposed to be placed, is empty.

No, all configuration data is passed by a *.ffs_real file (or implicitly via *.ffs_batch)

Ok, shame on me. First thing which should I have thought of ... Thanks

OK, it did the trick, thanks!

Use multiple folder pairs; one pair for each drive.

Currently that's not possible. So you'd need a distinct folder on target drive for each camera to avoid these name collisions.

> Can FFS do this? It works great to copy from folder to folder, but I would like to break the tree structure, for at least one backup. FreeFileSync respects hierarchy by design. S…

Two small remarks: > Create an empty folder on the memory stick where you want the synced folder to be. This step can be simplified: It's sufficient to enter the new directory as t…

> how does overwriting work The file is deleted first (respecting deletion policy "recycle bin/user- def-directory/permanently) and then copied. Regards, Zenju

In the FFS GUI, click on Advancd, "Create batch job" and in the window that appears you'll see a tick box for "silent mode"

> Thanks let me know if I am just to crazy :) Well, maybe let's call it very specific scenario ;) > Is it saved in some file? Yes, all folders to be synced are within your *.ffs_ba…

Ok! Thanks for your answer!!

>what is the format The important is to enter everything relative to the base synchronization directories: E.g. if "Picasa.ini" is located in a subdir called "Sub", then you'd ente…

Just seing difference is no problem: Start GUI mode and switch view to "comparison result" instead of "sync-preview". -Zenju

[Quote] I have figured out that it is a bug in Win7 RC. Sometimes when I manually run the scheduled task the status remains "ready" even though it is really running. the system use…

[Quote] GREAT! Go FFS!!! #1...

Thanks Zenju! I can live with that... :-)

[Quote] Yes, it's all ok. Sorry for the mistake, this thing has made me crazy... Sorry again and thanks. Gigi

[Quote] Thanks for that! it now works on my work PC. Cheers, Roger

[Quote] Hi, unfortunately I can't do anything with the event viewer data. Is this issue reproducible? I also suggest trying v1.19, as it has enhanced error feedback. If there is an…

Implementation for Volume Shadow Copy finished. Locked files can now be copied with ease in XP/Vista/Seven :) -Zenju
