Just a brief note that I blew the dust off some old build instructions for those interested in running FreeFileSync on RaspberryPi running RaspberryPi OS (previously called Raspbia…

I understand fully, I was just providing a 'solution' with current functionality

As a one-time action you can use this [URL] option.

Not possible all in one shot. You could sync C:\Source\Elmar\ to C:\Source\Elmar\Files and do the same for each user/folder

[URL]

You can't. This is not a normal sync action, as you expect it work across different folders. It can only work if all you photos are in 2A, and your albums in 2B just comprise refer…

Please add the feature for the collapsible folder!!!

Thank you

Get moved to an SSD, for sure, also

Are you sure it's the same files also? Sometimes FFS will transfer in a different order than Explorer.

I guess the author did not want to design a function that Microsoft had already designed for him, thereby avoiding the risk of being held liable (or the like) for any loopholes in …

Not sure what exactly you mean, but it seems the [URL] fits your above description.

Wow, a reply after 3,5 years! :-D Thank you very much for your suggestion. I might give this a go!

I used to have the same issue on here actually, it went away after a few days though. I don't think it had to do with the forum itself though, rather something with my computer or …

Hi everyone. I usually backup my phone (samsung galaxy s9, android 10) to my notebook using FFS with Windows 10 21H1 (and older versions of it). I plug my usb3 phone to my notebook…

Computers cache output by default, as writing every byte to a disk one a time would be hugely inefficient. So writes get cached, and written when the cache fills up. You may overri…

Thank you for the confirmation! That's what I was thinking.

No sync program in existence will do what you are wanting, because what you want is absurd to want ha How can the program know what files came from which source so it won't delete …

thanks. that's what i was trying to say that but my fingers got confused and clicked send before I was done editing my message.

Both users "bartolo" and "egidio" belong to the group "users". Members of the group "users" have read and write permission for the files and folders mentioned above. For linux comm…

Just found the answer in the RealTimeSynch tutorial

I am a fellow random dude who hangs out on this forum. You can check out [URL] but I only target Debian Sid/Devuan Ceres. I hope that's what you want! Zenju likes to keep this soft…

This can already be done. If you want to catalogue a specific folder (and its subfolders) * Perform a Compare between the folder (incl subfolders) you would like to have catalogued…

[Quote] @sbourdon FreeFileSync now has a feature to send email notifications, just go in the Job´s configuration and you will see it there... As for your question, the script is in…

It would be very useful if some simple filters were made available for the folders monitored by RealTimeSync. I have a sync job in FreeFileSync which excludes a number of temporary…

I have a Pixel 4a running android 10. There is one issue that I thought was a reliability problem, but it turned out to be a security feature. Basically, I have a desktop docking/c…

Not unless it gets programmed back in

This would be great.

I did not actively seek out the "Check for updates Now". I saw a dialog box appear that offered/recommended/suggested it to me without informing me it would close the windows and m…

Would be available in the near future one version for windows 10 ARM64? I know that windows x86 version of this marvellous software is running under simulator, but I trying to find…

Thank you! Fixed.

I mean, I can deselect it, it's just that it would be nice to have it, since we do move large folders and files from once place to another. I've it working with the dmf option dese…

Oh, the log will always contain what happened, you can't change that in FFS.

You would have to research the risks on spanned volumes. FFS scans the source and destination to determine what needs to be synced

With that said, I would just leave it or reset it to default after satisfying your curiosity

[Quote] +1 Agreed. That is rather handy :-).

No problem! :-) Thanks for taking the time out to mention it.

There is already an option that solves the problem, Task Scheduler, and it's more robust and universal. I didn't say change the time to hours? What is it set to now? How often are …

[URL] [URL] Malwarebytes is the only one that does detect it

Fixed: [Quote] [URL]

Related: Apparently the convention is for macOS, Linux to use SI units, i.e. bytes are reported in powers of 1000, while Windows uses powers of 1024, despite incorrectly presenting…

Yes, when you save the batch files/config, there is a checkbox to run minimized and one for ignoring errors
