Hi, Have you tried using pogoplug Drive application ? [URL]

[Quote]You should just monitor the relevant subdirectories. It makes no sense to have RTS trigger FFS caused by changes in locations that are not part of the sync. If you run a FFS…

Currently FFS is marked as high dpi aware and looks okay at 125% scaling, but obviously not at 250%. Maybe it's better to use the default upscaling for non-dpi-aware apps? [URL]

You can send me a [URL] then I can tell what FFS was doing during the hang.

Scanning every one/two days isn't even remotely what could be considered "heavy use". In any case if you're worried that you might lose data when a hard drive crashes, you probably…

Can you paste the error message that you are seeing?

[Quote] FreeFileSync's SFTP implementation requires Windows Vista or later.

[Quote][Quote]Both of you seem to be mixing up things. ReatimeSync (RTS) will monitor for changes, and then launch a specified application, typically FreeFileSync (FFS). In case of…

I even reinstalled FFS7.6 without any difference in speed. What seems weird to me is this "magic number" of 160,000 files. It always begins to slow down when reaching this number o…

this problem was because the FFS could not see the NAS folder location solution was. create a login item on the mac to open the NAS folder upon login, the FFS could see the NAS fol…

these instructions worked as Plerry said, thanks Plerry!

The setting is surely evaluated but you might be experiencing a problem like this one: [URL]

I used "textedit" on my Macbook (El Capitan) to make the change on the "LockDirectoriesDuringSync" programming line. I changed the value from "true" to "false". I then tried to use…

I have looked through all the options and am trying to hide the scanning window whenever it runs, as it finds changes. I have it set to close, Under FFS options, it Hides dialogs, …

Hello everybody, i got a problem in my sync path. I create a sync construct to copy new files from my phone to my notebook. Its all good. But if i restart and connect my phone (USB…

Just pulling the plug and putting it back fixes like 90% of the seemingly most complex IT problems! :)

hi forum users, is there a way to ignore only open files of a batch file? thanks in advance

Hi, No, you don't need to mirror. File Sync will compare the two locations and only sync files that are missing, changed, updated or deleted at each location. It will then effectiv…

How could I make FFS automatically start a second comparison with a new GUI or batch on completion of a sync? An error message appears when the sync is finished. [Image] And how co…

I have been used FreeFileSync on PC since many years without trouble. I switched to a modern MacPro ( OSx El Capitan ) I am trying to sync a 32G USB 3.0 key ( formatted on Mac : FA…

OK. We will switch to a single master mirroring scheme instead to avoid needing manual intervention. Thanks for the clarification!

Have a look at the middle column of FFS's preview dialog. This will tell what is going to happen to a file pair and also show the categorization.

Looks like the issue discussed here: [URL]

source code have no device_notify.h/dll.h/etc... why??? how to obtain those files?

If you directly click on "synchronize" it will simulate a click on the "compare" button, so this is just a shortcut.

The folder selector selects folders, not files.

I suspect that the sync.ffs_db file on the server is modified by some other application (probably SyncBack) and this explains why FFS behaves like it is synchronizing the pair for …

You probably have set "on completion" to "shutdown" in sync settings.

I'd try putting a dummy scrollbar object over there.. If the width of the scrollbar is fixed, then simply putting an object above it of the same color as the background and your jo…

I've disabled the automatic quote substitution for FreeFileSync, so there is no need to disable it globally. Here's the new version, let me know if there are any issues: [URL]

Are there other prerequisites besides the source that are needed to build? Getting some build errors that I can resolve by correcting references to header folders in the source - l…

Hello: When should FreeFileSync be used with RealtimeSync and when should it be used in a continuous loop in a batch file? What is the difference? Thank you.

I suggest you try to synchronize manually and evaluate the preview window to find out what exactly is happening and why some files are not synced from the USB to the local drive. I…

[Quote] This means that there are additional FFS processes running, probably scheduled by Task Planer. A single FFS process won't re-create the sync.ffs_lock files during a sync se…

Note that "idle time" is *not* a delay: The problem is, the longer you set the minimum idle time, the less likely it is that such a long time span without any wite operations actua…

Perfect thanks a lot. I did not notice specific filter per Pair.

When an application crashes it cannot delete any files, the process is essentially dead, doing nothing anymore. In the case of FreeFileSync there is no point in time where a crash …

FreeFileSync optimizes the sequence of synchronization steps so that peak disk space usage is reduced as far as possible (e.g. it starts by overwriting larger files by smaller ones…

All that can be safely said is that ERROR_DISK_FULL(112) is coming directly from the Windows API, so there must be something to it or it is a file system driver bug. Latter case is…

Same error on mac-os-x 10.10 (with either /usr/bin/g++ (clang) or with /usr/local/bin/g++-5 provided by homebrew). [Code]

Managed to answer my own question. For anyone else struggling with this, the answer is to specify the full path of where you want the revisions to go to. In my example that would b…

Perfect. I used the `*\*` filter to exclude the subfolder names too. Many thanks.

[Quote] Thanks! So, I want files deleted from my left/source location also to be deleted from my right/target location - BUT, as I said, I have old files in my back up HD, within t…

Did you follow the instructions in the manual? (see here [URL]) For scheduling you might need to call the FFS exe and define the batch-job as an argument, and can not just call the…
