> "multiple instances" Starting RTS more than once. > This is what I am trying to accomplish : Seems you need three instances of RTS, one for each sync job, the last one will trigg…

FFS can't split individual files. But if you have a large hierachy of directories, you can split these up into multiple "folder pairs" that can be run in a single FFS session. Here…

I'm currently solving a few problems on NAS shares related to this ticket: [404, Invalid URL: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=1093080&aid=3353929&group_id=234430]…

Hi d7e7r7 If you want to copy all your drive or partition inside it and not only files, I sugest "Paragon Backup and Recovery Free", a drive imaging software. You can see a small d…

Depends on what you want to achieve. You can always delete one or both db files. They will be recreated by FFS the next time you sync with variant "automatic". If you do not delete…

Thanks for the fix, I'll try it out. And sorry about the "crazy" part. I simply use that phrase too frequently.

I suggest to first upgrade all your installations to the most recent version of FFS. If the issue then can still be reproduced please open a bug tracker item and provide details.

Thanks for the info. It seems getting rid of empty folders should be the default behavior here (and only for time span, not for filesize). Therefore I've made FFS exclude all direc…

The original question was about synchronizing distinct data sources by determining status at each location in isolation, then copying over "the diff". This is not possible with FFS…

Thanks I also think that you are right.I will focus on the other issue regards Frank

You needn't use an old version. Just specify the x64 executable directly: \bin\FreeFileSync_x64.exe

! I'd looked for a real time sync type option before, but as I couldn't see it in the sync option menus I assumed it must only be able to operate to schedule only. Thanks for your h…

This is not possible with the current version. (However I image there is a hacky workaround: reroute one of the two folders by a symbolic link and set this link as one of the to be…

Wow, that was fast. Thanks for your great work.

Use a variant other than "automatic" and you're good.

Thanks! I look forward to seeing 3.18.

There has been some change meanwhile. It's now in "globalsettings.xml"

Ok sorry again..Thanks.. :)

Hmm. It turns out that mirroring renamed folders on my local hard drive works fine, and simple mirroring to my network drive works OK too. The ffs_batch job I use to sync my source…

My bad: replace "Zstring" by "zstring"

Sure. It is "only" a limitation of the software interfaces used. However instead of hacking in a solution that removes the "retry" button in this specific case, it's better to make…

> 30828 9 14 2 48 5 This means you have a file with modification time year: 30828 month: 9 date: 14 hour:2 minute: 48 second: 5 FFS crashing is a clear proof Windows is not year-30…

Not yet. Until then you can use the workaround described in the link.

The precompiled version is 32 bit Ubuntu. Running on a 64 bit OS will not work.

Have sent you my email via SF messaging system. Regarding the installer, just some misc. fixes. [404, Invalid URL: http://www.file-upload.net/download-3463851/hebrew.nsh.html]

It looks like I can just run the .ffs_real file and that bypasses the RealtimeSync startup screen. Awesome. =)

that works...thanks!

Thanks for your quick reply, it's much appreciated - the empty folder trick worked perfectly! Thanks once again for your support and great software.

The issues are probably related. Anyway they should be solved with v3.16

See my comment in the Bug report for a way to reproduce and to circumvent the problem.

>Did mirroring "cleans" the target folder before copying the new files? No, FFS operates file by file, with all operations being transactional. >Did i use mirroring in a wrong way?…

Okay nevermind. I am stupid. Figured it out.

No, comparison is based on the complete filename. -Zenju

Logging tab becomes active when setting "silent" checkbox.

After wracking what's left of my brain--and taking into account Zenju's information--I decided to run a couple of tests. Syncing 90 GB of data from an external hard drive to a seco…

thank you Zenju, with 3.14 all it's ok sorry for the disturb

No currently there is no such option in FFS.

The issue discussed here is about a certain lockup when writing the lock file. Message "waiting while ..." however means that the other file is still used by another FFS instance. …

Just downloaded Gladinet client with a Box.net account. Can't reproduce the issue, "works for me".

FFS only compares files by content that have the same name (= same position in folder hierarchy). Renamed files will (depending on settings) result in a creation and a deletion, or…

There is no priority, a file has to match both include and exclude filters. Therefore setting include filter to "\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\*" will suffice. Or just set …

Use "start /wait", this will ensure the call executes synchronously.

Thank you , that works well. And thank you for developing such a great backup program. Roger

RealtimeSync doesn't use Windows Task Scheduler to start sync jobs. All it does is execute the commandline at certain times, which in most cases just starts a FFS batch job. Theref…

Unfortunately not. Windows requires the user to have privilege "SeCreateSymbolicLinkPrivilege" in order to create links. This privilege, by default, is only given to administrators…

>'the file was not processed by last synchronisation So it seems this is exactly what has happened. At the time of last sync there were files that were relevant for, but did not pa…

Zenju sent me your request. I am french and live near Tours, not in Marseille, sorry. Perhaps can I help you to translate your software in french. I don't know it.. Please, give me…

> * * * No prob. > relative path, is it possible ? Yes, also working. Any path should do, even macros (e.g. environment var) are supported just as with FFS directory fields.

Unfortunately I'm not able to reproduce this issue neither. The correct number is calculated by subtracting "bytes transferred" from "total bytes to copy". "Error" is shown if this…

I didn't fully understand the example, but FFS's behavior when scanning a directory is simple: Everything is scanned, all files, all folders, including subfolders and files beyond.…
