FreeFileSync allows the definition of the name of a backup disk to be used instead of a drive letter. As usually for security reasons more than one backup disks are used in a wrap …

No

Nope! FFS can only tell if identically named files in identical (relative) file positions are identical or not. For your use you would need to use a tool like Beyond Compare.

You can't. You would have to exclude all the other subdirectories of AppData. You are better off creating a second pair where you set "c:\users\david\AppData" on the left and "x:\u…

I have started using your program and I love it. I would like to propose including a ? (always ask) to decide what to do if I have accidentally deleted a file and want to recover i…

Hello, I'd like to propose an improvement for the "Send To" functionality, since I'd like to use FreeFileSync as a copy job handler from out of a file explorer window. If I mark se…

One difference I noted between these two is that the flatpak version (apparently?) does not include command line support. If you need to run any bash script with freefilesync (for …

Because if you rename/update a file, FFS doesn't necessarily know that you don't want it to be a new file. The update sync prevents deletions, but detecting moved files requires fi…

Is there a way to add title or description to a log from within freeFileSync. The date and time is important, but during development I need to know the state of my code when saved.…

Good to hear! Such a weird thing since nothing has really changed on a macro level, but oh well, at least the sound is gone

[Quote] Hello, 1) As a general approach, if you can mount it as a drive in Winblows, then FreeFileSync can handle it. 2) ALSO, FreeFileSync has the "cloud" button in GUI that works…

Cool. Have you thought about writing logs to mySQL or something? Or the Windows Event Logs?

Personally, I kinda like parsing HTML sometimes. Of course, I don't parse form HTML-->TXT files, I parse from HTML-->SQLServer. If you guys ever need to parse HTML, I *HIGHLY* reco…

you mean, like you use a 'DNS C-name' to do this? Is that what you mean by 'dummy entry in the HOSTS file'? Yeah, I've used a lot of C-names over the years. I couldnt' survive with…

Following syncs should not have this problem

Correct! You can not select to ignore only specific errors. But you can always check the FFS log file afterwards for any other erros.

Should be fixed in FFS 11.18: [URL]

Unlikely that this was actually a solution to a problem, probably a coincidence.

Hello, it would be very handy to see the upload speed (like "2.3 MB/sec") when uploading files to FTP/SFTP. Please consider this in future development. Best regards OLLI

Hello Zenju, maybe is it possible to have a Option in the settings-menu with: Show Errors at the top of the Logfile: Yes|No This is because i ran freefilesync with my own script an…

What I'm seeing is that delta transferring requires data to be stored in chucks/blocks and that requires some control over the remote location. FFS is designed as a tool that is on…

I suppose this would apply to any command-line driven invocation of FFS, but anyways, I have two displays. Normally when I do syncs, I open them on the secondary display. However, …

Oh, seen it now. Sync progress has been moved from sync window to the main title bar. Thanks

No, FFS has absolutely no way to tell what you are using for syncing. Your set of files will transfer significantly faster on my 10gb network than it will on whatever you are trans…

I'm trying to sync my home directory, ~/, which contains most of my life's work: videos, web sites, programs, statistical analyses, papers, etc.

So updated to version 11.17 (Linux) this morning and something I always thought would be useful has been added - if your last sync was that day, rather than saying 'today' as when …
