My problem is not so simple as a DST difference. I have a personal Home NAS and total file size is around 3 TeraBytes now. I have a subset of this 3 TeraBytes storage on another di…

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.... :)

If you are speaking about folder browsing when you choose the folders to compare, you can write the path directly, you are not forced to browse if you don't like. I'm using the Win…

If you need funding publish FFS to Windows Store as paid app and tell people at Windows Central so they can promote it to larger audience I'll purchase FFS if you decide to publish…

Thanks!

Yes there is, and it does the same. I'm not using it, if I know that nothing is being written. But in case of writing big data to a slow SD card without any activity indicator, the…

Ahh.. Apparently i didn't look hard enough for a thread about the issue. Thanks

Thanks so much!!!! You are very kind!

@Plerry: We are talking about the same. Note: When you press F7 then it opens window called "Synchronization settings" (or similar - I translated it from my language). In that wind…

I want to apologize. Preparing the "test login data" I realized that the problem is at our server with some file names with incorrect accents (they do not show correctly even in ou…

Awsome - so here we find something. I find files that are different, but they are marked "- " - meaning they will not be copied over to the righthand side... So -they are infact id…

Great news! And thanks for the lightning reply. Look for a contribution shortly.

There are at least three issues with this FTP server: 1. If an unecrypted connection (= no SSL/TLS) is attempted, the server simply does not respond => Definitively rude and compli…

Howdy! I just wanted to report that the current press release on the website is for FreeFileSync 7.5. It may have been overlooked when prepping the release of version 9.0. =)

Cool, I've added it to the manual as an example. Not sure, but maybe this is even of enough general interest that it should be added as a default for FreeFileSync on macOS.

The launcher makes a synchronous call (= waits for the callee to exit) in order to support scripting scenarios, e.g. where the error code of FreeFileSync.exe needs to be retrieved.

[Quote] This is "fine", in the sense of "garbage in, garbage out" and a direct consequence of how relative paths are handled in general. [Quote] Makes sense, fixed! [Quote] [Quote]…

Unfortunately the compiler of Leap is too old to compile FFS. Currently FFS can only be built on Tumbleweed.

I guys, First of all, I have to mention that this piece of software is a must for me : simple and fast, perfect ! However, I used to use BeyondCompare and there is a feature that I…

I joined just to say that I'm impressed this happened so quickly.

I have two simplest methods 1. Quit the program. 2. Deleted the older folder and sync again. I decided the second. Best Regards

[Quote] Dear Zenju, I looked into it and I cannot get it right, so let's leave it alone. Thanks anyway for your effort. Maybe it is possible to alter your code for the screen to op…

Thanks, I will look when I get back this evening.

I just found this on the Forum: Is it what to use to auto-email FFS log files? "Loggy Mail is a simple console application which enables the emailing of FreeFileSync log files to o…

The problem is that the Android device doesn't respect the modification time it is given by FFS, but simply sets it to "now".

I wrote: [Quote] In retrospect, e.g. %AppData% or %ProgramFiles% will probably not work in Include and Exclude filters, as those refer to absolute addresses. (In my view the first …

Hello, Versioning is a great feature of FFS! But now it's too space-consuming. Why not make it compact? What I mean: NOW: versions stored in C:\Revisions\%day%\ folder. This is goo…

Is there anybody who has tried and successfully managed to run FreeFileSync on a Synology Diskstation NAS? The reason why this might be interesing is that for some large transfers …

Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to manually set the number of threads available to use for compare and sync. Outside of the bundled app install at the beginning, I really enj…

The forum is built upon a heavily modified phpBB that was stripped from its myriads of useless bells and whistles. When modding you feel like a sculptor who knows that the beautifu…

Yes, it is possible/advisable, and setup to work in that configuration.

> Can a freefilesync batch file be activated from a hardware event=?????? Yes you can, although it is a bit "tedious". You can use the (Windows) Task Scheduler, define a Custom Eve…

Technically this is not possible with the current design which works by processing each folder pair one at a time. Also for cross-folder pair move detection it is required that all…

Until moment the program works like a charm. Detect moved or deleted folders with a database controlling everything. Best Regards

Another case of AV software heuristics going mad. It looks like I might have to push an update because of this nonsense (unless the AV prog fixes their stuff).

Hi, FFS is great. I've run version 6.1 till now. Understand the size issue has been discussed on this forum for many times. But I'm looking forward to have the same feature that St…

Hello Any forecast about when this could be implemented? Every subdirectory I create on our server has the "wrong" access rights... Regards Patrick

This topic has been discussed extensively [URL] quite some time ago, and has resulted in the present functionality since FFS version 6.1. FFS (directly) supports retaining either a…

Thanks, this works correctly if I specify the correct folder path. Folder that I can view in filezilla
