After a thorough investigation, it seems there is no solution at all. FFS uses wxWidgets which is implemented in terms of Win32 API "RegisterDragDrop". So the common workarounds us…

Yes, mouse-hover + DEL key

You could try to run it from a console window and look if you get some log output. Are you using the recent version?

Dear Zenju, Works perfectly!!! Incredibly fast! No more lags, and the Synchronisation works as fine as ever! Thank you so much for finding the problem!

I have the same problem with Windows XP x64.

maybe gcc issue, you need gcc 4.6 to compile newer versions

Understood. Unfortunately, my last few posts addressed two separate (but related) issues, and I think that caused some confusion. The workaround which I am using for Error 33 is to…

Generally FFS's traversal routine is almost completely I/O bound so that there is basically no room for further optimization in non-cached scenarios. In order to find out whether t…

Currently there is no "sync selected items only" feature, but it needs to be emulated by excluding everything else and doing a regular sync. Considering the two scenarios "sync eve…

Ok,Thanx! I thought i could download and try the v.5.1, but at [URL] there's still only 5.0? /GS!

The next version addresses this "problem" with a (hopefully) more canoncial filter icon.

There's a feature request open right now: [404, Invalid URL: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3504406&group_id=234430&atid=1093083]

Generally it's not possible to detect moved files (or even deleted files) on first sync. Therefore it is best to check sync directions manually the first time you sync using "autom…

You are correct again. The problem is solved. Thank you VERY MUCH for your help!!!!!!

I found smbfs in Synaptic so I installed that which resolved that error message. Now I get "mount error: could not resolve address for <windows-box>: unknown error". I will start a…

Worked perfect! Thank you very much :)

FLS = FFS - Sorry

i'm waiting the new feature in new update nearly most parameter can be controlled by batch script XD

See discussion here: [URL]

FFS fully supports symbolic links, that is "exclude, follow or direct". The default is "exclude", see helpfile "comparison settings" for details.

ruebedo you could try setting up iFolder on Ubuntu Server

Thank you very much :)

Incidentally I have just fixed this performance bug for the next release: [404, Invalid URL: http://www.2shared.com/file/BY-oL_k5/FreeFileSync_v51_beta_setup.html]

For some reason the RTS binary cannot find a required shared library - this is a system error message, not RTS. You can either try to ensure that "libboost_thread.so.1.48.0" is vis…

Just in case you've missed it, I've resonded to the tracker item. [404, Invalid URL: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3487415&group_id=234430&atid=1093080]

A lnk. file is like any other file from a file system's perspective. I suggest doing a few tests with different file types and contents to find out what is causing some of them to …

Today continued to try fix wxWidget GTK3 port to compile FFS in GTK3 environment. /usr/local/lib/libwx_gtk3u_adv-2.9.so: undefined reference to `gdk_window_lookup_for_display' Fix …

Thanks for reply, still no joy. Have tried "transactional file copy" and changed the file permissions on the hard drive. Afraid I'm don't really know what I'm doing with with this …

If they have wxWidgets and boost, there should be no reason why FFS is not working. The code is platform independent, so should work on all Linux distributions that fulfill these p…

No, this value is due to new functionality in v4.6, which is executing a command after sync.

Either due to a new version of my phone software, or a new version of FFS, I haven't seen this problem reoccur. I also think it had something to do with Windows Live Mesh. That may…

There is no direct support to temporarily disable folder pairs, but there are a few workarounds: 1. The most obvious: create multiple configurations, each of which contains the sub…

Ah - *.mp3 was in the exclusion filter - twice! I certainly didn't put it there, as it defeats the object of what I'm doing! The "Smart-pad" I have is hyper-sensitive, even after t…

Thanks, but that didn't help, as the problem is in the comparison. I have some screen shots as evidence and will start a new report for that when I have the time.

FreeFileSync copies full files only via the Operating System's default copy routine.

There's been a bug in the auto-updater of this old release. As for the config file conversion, if the converter is not working, the next best solution is to use a text editor and p…

Thanks a lot, now I know where to continue. I am quite far from a programmer, I realised that the messages about the '[' and '{' tokens must mean a problem with the source code in …

Am using version 4.6. Synch a laptop to a NAS Netgear "Stora." Items I delete from my laptop reappear there after sync. How do I fix this? Setting is "Automatic." Thank you,

The target folders need not exist. I assume you are worried about the error message "directory not existing"? Just ignore it, FFS will create them automatically. However the main t…

If you have set delection handling to "recycle bin" or "versioning" you can retrieve deleted and overwritten files from their respective location.

The ffs_batch files need to be migrated (= load and save them again) [404, Invalid URL: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3466418&group_id=234430&atid=1093080]
